Only 4 Watts on High Power! - Not the 8W shown in the seller's pictures
I bought this based on advertised specifications of product - 8W output on high power. The model shown on the inside sticker in their ad says model UV-82 Plus with H 8W, M 4W, L 1W. What you will get is a UV-82 with no power output ratings listed on the serial number sticker. So, I ran a test with a Nissei DG-503 digital wattmeter, and an MFJ-264 dummy load. I set the radio to transmit on the 2 Meter band (146.460 MHz). The radio display shows it is set on H (high power). As you can see from my picture, it transmits just over 4 watts with a fully charged battery. I am very disappointed with the false claim of what model I would receive. The reason I gave this product 3 stars, however, is because just a standard UV-82 that is supposed to put out 5 watts, will probably not do better that 4 watts, and this radio comes with a programming cable and a spare whip antenna. If the seller would have been honest about what they were selling I would give this purchase five stars, because it would still be worth what I paid for it.

Not band limited, actually 8W, has FM chip
Buying these Baofengs can be a bit hit or miss these days. Some new imports into the US are now band limited by the FCC and need to be "unlocked." Additionally, almost all of them are advertised as "8W" on the label, but may only transmit at 5W (with only High/Low options), and some have been shipped without FM chips due to the international chip shortage.I purchased this unit in May 2022 and it IS NOT band limited, it IS actually 8W (has High/Med/Low) and it DOES have the FM chip.I was a bit nervous about the programming cable, because I've read that the PL2303 chip cables aren't that great, but it works just fine. Even on my Mac through a USB-C to USB-A adapter. Be sure to press it into the radio fully. It can feel fully inserted, but still be a bit loose -- hold it tightly if you need to for the 15 seconds it takes to read or write to the radio.Lastly, I know nothing about antennas, but this one seems okay. I do seem to get better reception than the 8" standard antenna. Don't strongly tighten your antennas, or it will actually decrease performance -- just barely hand-tighten it.And lastly, this kit does come with the other standard accessories -- battery, wall plug, charging dock, cigarette-lighter adapter, clip, box, manual, lanyard, clip, wired earphone mic thing, and even though it wasn't listed, it did come with the standard antenna.Pretty sure this is the best deal on Amazon at the time of writing, if you want a better antenna and programming cable, at $35.

good for the money
got me interested in 2 meter ham radio again. free chirp software makes it extremely easy to setup. bought a 1/2 wave length antenna and i can reach out and touch better than my yaesu vx7r. just dosn't sound as good. don't let anybody tell you that a good antenna will overload the electronics. recommend twayrdio rh660s antenna.HTH

Great for the Price $$
Great VHF/UHF Ham HT. Good value for the money, but does not compare to Ham brands or commerical radios.

Does not have FM chip - Additional antenna doesn't fit
No FM chip therefore NO reception of local FM stations - extra antenna did not fit, the base is too narrow for it to bolt on - has a different than advertised manufacturer name on the back label (see pic bottom), also does not say 8 watts as the one in the picture shows (will measure it and update) - I wanted this because it says FCC licensed but unfortunately it doesn't have ID next to the logo (as it should per FCC regulations)
