Double Everything of the OontZ Angle 3 Ultra
It's twice the size of the OontZ Angle 3 Ultra so while it is still portable enough, I won't be packing this on a trip. I use the new OontZ Angle 3 Ultra Pro in the bathroom. It takes up more space than the Ultra because it must be played bass firing down as that's the only place that has the appropriate silicone/ rubber as rubber feet. So you can't place on the side like the ultra. Also the controls are along the ridge facing up when placed that way and it would be awkward to place on the side. I use it in the shower. It streams music from a HiBy R3 to the washing area and the bedroom. It was a treat hearing such clear, improved sound in the shower. The volume controls of each unit operate independently, not like my pair of regular OontZ Angle 3 Ultra. The impact of hearing the Pros for the first time was not as pronounced as the first time hearing the OontZ Angle 3 Ultra. Those regular 14 watt Ultras pack quite an amazing punch for such a small package. The Pros are twice the size and I expected about what I got initially. Then I fine-tuned the MSEB system in the R3, the regular R3 with the plain old single ESS DAC that sounds so good! Wow how fantastic these Angle Ultra Pros sound. It was easy enough handling them during my shower routine. I put the control unit in the shower and the other speaker I placed outside the shower but with independent volume I cranked that one a little more and I had true stereo taking a shower. I leave the system streaming and I turned the brightness all the way down in the R3 and leave the screen on with the pop-up volume on the screen always ready. I simply turn up the volume on the screen to listen! That is how I adjusted to not being able to control the volume on both speakers with the control unit. I would not ever want to drop these Pros from the window ledge in the shower like I did about 10 times with the Ultra. I kept putting the Ultra on its side on the window ledge in the shower and it kept surprising me by loudly crashing onto the hard tile floor. It had no detectible damage at all from such abuse. I have learned to use the rubber feet, and that a window ledge in a shower slants down to let the water drain (duh). The sound is great. The OontZ Angle 3 Ultra Pro makes an awesome stereo system. Take a Shanling M0 and two OontZ Angle 3 Ultra Pros and that is one really cool, fantastic sounding music system. I tried the M0 as well and decided not to risk getting the M0's leather case wet from the washing area. The R3 has a hard, waterproof enough for my purposes case. Both of these players and probably any decent, lossless, quality player (Fiio, iBasso, Shanling, HiBy, etc.) will sound great as well. The sound is twice as good as the OontZ Angle 3 Ultra and the sound of the OontZ Angle 3 Ultra is in itself extraordinary. To summarize, twice the size of the Ultra, twice (maybe even more) as good sound, and twice the price. Well worth the price. The only factor is durability which only time will tell. The regular Ultras so far seem to be wear-proof after a year and some rough handling. They look and work like they just came out of the box. These new Pros are a real treat.

Love these speakers, despite small issue with IPhone
This review is for the pair of angle Pros. I'm currently only a few days in, and will update if anything changes. I'll start with the only negative issue I'm having - when connected to my IPhone Xs, there is some cutting out - only when both speakers are paired. Sometimes fine, sometimes keeps happening. It's kind of random and I have not yet been able to determine the cause. However I paired them with my ancient (2013?) ipod touch, and they work perfectly. The rest is good: The sound quality is GREAT IMO. I'm not an audiophile, but I am very picky. I like clear sound, warm sound, nothing harsh. As it happens, I like the sound of my Edifier R1280T bookshelf speakers, and these sound similar. Sound is nice and clear, and not harsh. Bass is fine, and all you can expect from a speaker this size. You DON'T need to load the app - the speakers connect easily without it and sound great. I just use the EQ on spotify on the iphone or ipod to tweek it, but really not much is needed. I don't want any additional apps on my phone. The pair of Angles blow my JBL Pulse 4 out of the water. With just one Angle speaker connected, the JBL is about an even match. It has a little better bass, but the sound points straight up. Ok for indoors, but not good for outdoors. The Angle lets you direct the sound. With 2 Angles playing in stereo, it is game over. They fill the back yard nicely. Not party level, but loud enough. Sorry, mono doesn't cut it for me. Once you set them up for stereo, all you have to do is turn both speakers on and they connect to your bluetooth device in stereo. Nice.

Best in Their Class
I ordered three sets of waterproof speakers based on their reviews and tried them all out by the pool. The DuoTen pair were round, colorful and cute with their rotating lights but really not enough volume or wattage. Bass is pretty much non-existent. I thought I might use the suction cups to attach them to the sides of the pool but trying them out in the office was almost a disaster -- both fell off the cabinet I had attached them to within a couple of hours. And the clock feature would have been handy but not essential, especially since it could only be set as a 24-hr clock. These might be ok for the shower, just be sure to have them secured with a safety lanyard. Though with their rubber construction, they would probably just bounce if they did fall off the shower wall. I also tried their no-frill brothers, the stripped down DuoTen hiking speakers with 10 watts each. These were blasters! And with a bit of bass too. The latter pair would be ideal for camping, hiking or the beach. But it was the Oontz Angle 3 Pros that got my attention. With great volume, 15 hrs battery life and decent bass, they have more than exceeded my expectations at this price point. As a side note, there's always someone who complains about the bass in all three of these sets. My experience has been you need power and magnets to get the real deal. If that's important to you, get ready to spend a few more bucks, maybe run an outlet to the pool. Honestly, for battery powered speakers these have some heft, as well as clarity and good separation. There's also a simple app that adds some handy features including a rudimentary EQ, split stereo, etc. I use them with my Alexa Echo Input for voice controlled music, sports, whatever Alexa can deliver. Speakers can be individually controlled or synced. So, if you're looking for outdoor rechargeable waterproof speakers that don't break the bank, you could do a lot worse than the Oontz Angle 3 Pros. Needless to say, I sent the other two pairs back.

Excellent sound and unique features /w multiple speakers
These speakers keep surprising me - sound quality is excellent, and can get very loud for the size. Battery life is excellent too. They are water proof / sand proof etc. I bring them the beach, left them out in the rain, no issues whatsoever. The real impressive stuff happens with multiple speakers. With two speakers you can easily sync together and offer left/right stereo separation. With 4 speakers, you can activate surround mode, they all sync locally and your device only needs to connect once to power all 4 speakers. Most impressive to me is the fact that you can plug one speaker in via an audio cable, and then have it locally sync with up to 3 other speakers and everything works perfectly. So while bluetooth connection from phone /computer is a typical setup, we regularly connect one speaker to a DJ mixer and then it wirelessly streams to the other speakers perfectly. Really impressed.

The battery blew up on 3 of them independently after a year, can't be used without the battery.
The sound quality is awesome, but the batteries they use suck. One at a time they totally failed after about a year, and that is the end of the product. I was very careful caring for the battery the whole time: never overcharged, never undercharged. Super disappointed, because the sound is so good. I replaced with Tribit, which in my opinion are better in every way. Better sound, a third the price, half the size, twice the battery run time, latest BT 5.3 technology.

The OontZ Angle 3 Pro DUAL, is a great pair of speakers but...
The reason for 3 stars, is I purchased these originally back on November 29, 2021, and by February 25, 2022, one of the speakers just stopped playing music. I did not start using the second speaker in surround mode until a week or 2 before 2/25/21. I used one of the pairs almost every day, when I brought the second speaker into the mix it worked independently and in surround mode. The second speaker started cutting in and out, and then eventually wouldn't make any sound, not even the connect to Bluetooth sound. I tried all the reset options for this speaker. I even connected it via the included 3.5mm audio jack and no sound at all. The strange part is all the controls still worked, the volume would go up and down, play/pause would work and it would even connect to the first speaker in surround mode but no audio. I contact Amazon and explained what happened and THANK YOU they were able to send me another pair of speakers for a swap. BUT, when I go the new pair 1 of the 2 speakers was not working and the packaging was not resealed. So when I returned the first none working speaker I send the new none working speaker back. Now at this current time, I have 2 working speakers. So far I have had this working since 3/3/2022! WOOHOO!! So fingers crossed that both keep working. Besides all the stuff I went thru above, the speakers are great separately and sound amazing. When you put them into surround mode and I have them working with my FireTV stick the sound is amazing. As far as the app, well let's just say don't use it. It gets in your way and there seems to be some strange delay. The app "works" but I like just using the controls on the speakers themself. The instructions that come with the speakers are very informative and explain a lot. Would I buy them again knowing all this, I would have to answer with a maybe. Oh, I have bought 4x of the OontZ Angle 3's and LOVE THEM and I have had those speakers for a few years and they are still working great, even the ones that keep wanting to go for a swim on the CA Aqueduct.

Pretty much just what I was looking for...until it died.
Update Dec 2024 - after two and a half years of light use, I started using this Oontz speaker pair as my full-time speakers for my home computer. After just a few months of that heavier usage, one of the two speakers went dead. The battery no longer charges - it'll play if plugged into a USB power source, but even then the speaker will randomly go dead and have to be "rebooted" every 15 minutes or so. I attempted (using online guides) to take the non-charging speaker apart to see if I could fix it, but unlike the cheaper Oontz models, the Angle 3 Pro is impossible to get opened up without destroying it. It's a shame because I liked everything about this speaker set - the true stereo, the decent sound quality, the portability, etc. But if they're going to go dead after just a couple years, I can't recommend buying them. Here's my original review from summer of 2022: I like to listen to MP3s out on my deck, streamed from my phone. Previously I was using a single Bose Bluetooth speaker, and it sounded fine, but the lack of stereo separation bothered me. I thought "I'll just go online and look for a two-speaker Bluetooth setup that would be true stereo. Surely there must be a bunch of those on the market." Turns out, they're almost as rare as unicorns. After reading the reviews of these OontZ Angle 3 Pro dual speakers, I decided to give them a try. They're a big improvement on the single Bose speaker. I can put one speaker on each side of the deck table and get real stereo. The set-up was much easier than I thought it would be - the booklet that comes with the speakers is very informative. Basically, all you have to do to set the speakers up in stereo is turn both of them on, hook one of them up to your phone (or whatever you're playing music on) via Bluetooth, then hold a button down on that speaker for a few seconds until it finds and pairs with the other speaker. At that point, one speaker will say "Left Channel" and the other will say "Right Channel" and you're good to go. If, for some reason, you wanted both speakers to play the same thing instead of being left/right channels, you just hold that button down again until it switches out of stereo mode. Once I had the speakers set up for stereo, they just default to that when I turn them on now. Sound quality-wise, my only complaint is that the speakers could use more bass, but given their size I'm not surprised that they don't sound like a massive sub-woofer. Initially, I thought the sound was a bit too mid-rangey, but the app I use to play MP3s (Musicolet) has a built-in equalizer, so I was able to tweak it until it sounded great (apart from wishing there was a bit more bass). The stereo imaging is perfect. I tried setting one speaker on each arm of my living room couch and sitting dead center between them to listening to Roger Waters' "Amused to Death", which was recorded with binaural technology. The vocals sounded like they were coming from right in front of my face, while in the background thunder rumbled across the room and barking dogs sounded like they were outside. It was pretty amazing. I saw a couple reviews that claimed that the maximum volume isn't that loud - it's plenty loud for me. I don't even turn them up all the way out on the deck because I don't want to irritate the neighbors. There's a app you can download that supposedly gives you more control over the speakers, but I so far they're doing everything I want from them right out of the box, so I haven't bothered with the app. Battery life seems fine. I fully charged them when they first arrived last week, and have probably listened to a total of 10 hours or so of music since then, and they're still going strong. Overall, I'm very happy with these speakers. If Amazon allowed fractional ratings, I'd probably give them 4.5 stars, but I don't mind rounding that up to a 5.
