The Mystery of the Stuttering Parrot (The Three Investigators No. 2) Paperback – May 21, 1991

I wanted to relive my favorite book series from grade-school and so I bought this copy. Even as an adult, I was very impressed with it! Every chapter made me want to read the next. A fast read. It was a great trip down memory lane! And I think modern day kids, would benefit from this far superior kind of story-telling. There are enough mysteries to solve throughout the book that kids of all ages will feel like they are at least solving something.

The books by Robert Arthur in this "Three Investigators Series," I have found to be excellent, creative and very entertaining. This particular "Mystery of the Stuttering Parrot," is a classic, in terms of the "Three Investigators," Series. Well written. Surprising. Fun. Great for Middle Schoolers and really anyone who loves a good mystery. I try to make sure all of my avid readers, read this book. I wish they would publish a few of these again and have available in our schools libraries. Would make a great TV series!

In 1978, I was given a hardcopy edition of this very book for my birthday by my Aunt. What kind of relative gives a 9 year old kid a book for his birthday anyway??Little did I know that this book would lead me to over forty others and the Greatest series/collection of books that I have ever read. I love the Three Investigators and I feel that this was the best book of the entire series.The author takes great care in guiding you through the "mystery"/adventure and lets Jupiter Jones put it all together in the end.I don't want to spoil the very ending, so I won't go into detail...just be assured that this book will delight a juvenile or adult.Buy this now! I bought this for my pre-teenage daughter and son. Sure beats them wasting their time reading about witches or vampires!!

My husband read these books when he was young and had been talking about them for years. He finally pinned me down to ordering some. I can say that my 8 and 6 yr old LOVE listening to them as well as reading on own. They are great mystery stories and we will continue to order the rest of the set as they get through them. Thank you Amazon!! They are pricey but thanks to being able to buy used through amazon they are affordable. Who would have thought they could be worth so much! I guess you never know what treasures you may have stored away from way back when!

I read the Three Investigators series as a young girl (in another language), and I find that I still enjoy these books even when I am a mother of 3 children now. I own approximately 20 books so far, and will continue to buy if the price is right. I find that [...] sell these used books for a lot less.
