Really hard to burst - but still fun
We used this at our babies' birthday party. We started blindfolding kids like normal, then went through a round where kids could take 3 whacks with no blindfold. Then we let any kid willing to try to whack it as hard as they could as much as they could before tiring out. Then we let the big kids and the teenagers and the young adults try their best. Finally, we swung it hard and smashed it up against the porch pillar. After about 6 smashes, it opened enough for most of the candy to come out. Kids had to reach in the holes and pull out the remaining candy.

It doesn't burst, it decapitates.
The overall construction of this product has a design deficiency as a pinata: the head and base are two separate spheres of cardboard held together internally with masking tape. This has two engineering faults: the most likely destruction is by decapitation, and the cardboard strips reinforce too much against body blows. Additionally, the zip-tie loop at the top, while safer than simple wire, breaks easily.I think some minor redesign on construction techniques can make this an outstanding pinata. That said, it is a delightful artistic design and the expression on the face is both taunting and fearful at the same time. The likeness to the Linux Tux penguin was most joyful.

Great Penguin Piñata!
Very cute piñata. We bought two since the other reviews said they were a bit small and we had over 25 kids coming to the party. As it turned out two piñata's worked out well because everybody got to hit one at least once. They broke pretty easily so I would not recommend you let the kids hit it more than three or four times per turn. I would say that if you are expecting more than 12 to 15 kids you should get more than one piñata. It would hold enough candy for more kids but ours broke after 12 or 13 kids took a wack at it and several kids were concerned that they would not get a turn to hit it.

Penguin Pinata is a great choice
This pinata is really difficult to break which makes for plenty of attempted swings and successful hits! It is very sturdy! When we did it for a birthday party, the head became disconnected from the body and we ended up having to slam it on the floor to get the candy out. The kids loved it! It holds a lot of candy and small toys!

Made for many laughs and great memories!
This pinata was a breeze to fill due to the big size and roundness. You can easily add small toys in addition to candy. It was cute and looks exactly what is shown in the picture. It took a lot to take this penguin down! It did break open and spill the goodies but very well constructed. It made for many laughs and great memories! I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a winter themed party!

A normal pinata
This pinata was part of a Happy Feet II party for my son. I was actually disappointed with how the pinata fell from the ziptie before two kids were able to hit it! We had to just open it ourselves. It wasn't any cheaper than the pinatas sold in the local party stores, but we needed a penguin! Wouldn't order another one.

Came crushed and we need it tomorrow!
The bottom/feet of the penguin were pushed in, so there was a gaping hole and tears in the pinata. The top of the head was a little pushed in too. We pulled out the parts but it is not easy to fix from the outside since all the tape is usually on the inside. Tomorrow is our daughter's 5th birthday celebration and we have a badly damaged pinata. Super disappointed to have to deal with this. We'll try to fix it but bummed it won't look like a new one, as it should be.I'm posting here because it's not an "amazon packaging feedback" issue. This was crushed in the plastic bag but the outside cardboard box that it was shipped in was fine.

It was perfect for the occasion
It was fine for a piñata.

Quality isn't as expected
Didn't look like the penguin advertised, quality is ok for something that's going to be smashed up anyway just looks scruffy. Annoying when you don't get what you expect you've paid for.

Good, but...
Great but make sure to note a few things:- It doesn't come with a stick (my fault for not reading the description)- It has a weakness around the neck line so the whole body came separate from the head instead of it gradually breaking. However, nicely crafted and looks really good.

Solid
Looks amazing. Easy to fill through a wee hole at the back but not so easy to break apart!

Fun and strong
Purchased this for a child's birthday party, the children ranged from age 2-6 and they spent a good half hour taking it in turns trying to smash this! Kept them very entertained. However it did require an adult to give it a good hit or 2 otherwise I don't think they would have ever got into it!! Could fit lots of treats inside, included sweets, bracelets, party poppers, whistles, and little party bag type toys. Ideal.

Cute and works well
A cute, well sized pinata that held out long enough to give the kids a good number of turns bashing it before spilling its contents. My daughter liked it so much she wanted to put it back together again afterwards to keep!
