Ya Otta Pinata Butterfly Pull-String Pinata

Got this for my 5 yr old's birthday party, all 5 yr olds and younger siblings, they loved this, it was so fun, so nice that they all lined up nicely and took turns, so excited to pull the strings, then close to the third to last string, one girl pulled and it didn't come off so we knew this was the one, so we yelled for her to pull harder, then my husband pulled with her and it still didn't open, He had to poke his thumb in and literally rip it open and then shake the candy on the floor for the kids. They still screamed with delight, but I'm thinking a different design would have opened easier, This one is just a long skinny body, maybe a rounder one would open easier?

Very cute, but the tissue paper covering was rubbed off in some inconspicuous places upon arrival. Also, the cavity to be filled is TINY. I have purchased other pinatas from local party stores and had to go back for additional filler items. This time, one bag of "pinata filler" wouldn't even fit. The filler hole is at the butterfly's "shoulders, so the upper 1/3 of the pinata goes unused. The hanging loop is at the top of the butterfly's head, so the pinata hangs straight down and the wings do not splay open as indicated in the item's photo. The opening, once the correct ribbon is pulled, is small so not everything spills out without a lot of help. The ribbon that ripped open the bottom was too hard for a 7 year old to pull off. The price was nice though- about half what a good-sized pinata costs in a party store.

Was the perfect little game for my daughter's first birthday party. My son decided that she should have a Dora the Explorer themed party. And thus the pinata was a necessity. The neighborhood kids had a great time taking turns to pull the strings. It opened successfully with a string pull as advertised. We did have to shake it to get the prizes to come out, but the kids didn't care at all. So much better than having small children swinging a stick around.The pinata was well constructed and arrived decorated exactly as shown - fun bright colors and all. The opening to fill in up is on the back of the butterfly's head. It held more than enough candy and small toys for 8-12 or more kids (depending on how much stuff you want them to have!)3 months later, we still haven't discarded the pinata - it actually makes a cute room decoration, and my kids still enjoy looking at it. Well worth what we paid.

First of all the design and colors of this pinata are very cute. This isn't true papier mache but looks like it. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 are for 2 reasons...only the middle holds candy, so not much room and none of the pull strings actually opened up the pinata. The kids still enjoyed it and we just shook out the candy, so it was fine. It is big in size just not in room for candy.

Well made and holds a lot of candy. It was a hit!

This is beautiful but does was extremely hard to fill. The full button did not work so we had to rip a hole to fill it. The wings are flat and the head is not hollow so only the body can be filled. It really doesn’t hold a lot either. The strings did not work and ended up pulling the piñata down from the zip tie that ripped out of the head. We ended up ripping it ourselves and throwing the candy over the kids.

The butterfly pinata arrived promptly and in great condition. The kids loved it! The only problem we experienced was that none of the pull strings opened the pinata...we finally had to rip it open. That wasn't a big deal for kids who are all 5 or younger, but older kids might have been a little more disappointed.All in all, we were happy with the price and quality of this pinata and might try another one for a future party.

I gave it 4 stars because it was supposed to open when the right string was pulled and it did not. However, all the children loved it so I didn't feel too bad about that. They had so much fun gathering as much candy as they could once we opened it up for them!

I decided to go for this item as I wanted a large pinata that the kids could pull open rather than bash. I had read the reviews prior to buying the item and had hoped that those who said that the pinata did not open were just unlucky, unfortunately this was not the case and after getting to the last ribbon with 15 excited 6 year olds......nothing happened. We had to tear it open in the end. Luckily 6 year olds are easy to please and once the contents had spilled out they were all happy.This pinata does look good and can fit quite a lot into it and the children enjoyed pulling the ribbons its just a shame that it didn't open as it should have done.One thing to note if anyone is interested, there were 16 ribbons on the pinata. I thought it would be useful to know as we had invited 20 children to the party and wanted to know if there would be enough for each child to have a turn. Also what we did was identify the ribbon which should have opened the pinata and marked it so we could make sure that it wasn't the first ribbon pulled.

We purchased this as the finishing touch for our little girls hungry caterpillar birthday party. She was delighted to find it at the end of her caterpillar adventure with her friends and they each enjoyed taking turns to pull the ribbons and see the treats fall out. A well made product with bright colours, a great alternative for younger children compared to those that you hit with a stick.

The pinata arrived well packaged and on time. We wanted a pinata which didn't need hitting so this seemed ideal. It looked really good and held lots of goodies but nothing fell out when all the strings were pulled. Everyone was disappointed. We eventually managed to cut it open using considerable force, which was a shame as we wanted to hang it in our grandaughters bedroom after the party. Wouldn't buy again.

I got this for our daughters 3rd birthday. I was pleasantly surprised at how big it was and it it's very colourful and pretty. I went for a draw string piñata as I thought it would be easier for the kids to use with them being that little but younger. Looks fab. I know she will love it

Kidslined up, pulled the strings. Sometimes several came out together, some were almost impossible to pull out.All the strings got pulled and nothing happened.Ended up ripping it open and chucking the sweets on the floor manually.Waste of money, a piece of junk.
