Nothing to compare to, but love what I got...
I wanted to get a new workout gadget to play with and I saw someone using a BodyBlade, so I thought I'd pick one up - then I saw the price, much more than something I didn't feel strongly compelled to buy. Thanks to good old Amazon suggestions, I spotted this, and at the price, it was worth taking a gamble on.As far as workmanship on the product, it seems to be well built and thought out - to be honest, I'm not sure what the competition does to warrant 3x the price, but from my perspective, the Total Bar is a great value (very few other workout things I have cost as little). Now from the workout perspective - I'm a fan of functional training, I have a Tuff Stuff corner functional trainer that I really love, so I'm already a believer of this kind of equipment. That being said, I was open but skeptical about how good of a workout that swinging around some rubber ends on a composite tube would be... For me, this was akin to when I first used a VersaClimber (if you haven't tried one, then definitely do it) - it's best summed up as deceptively difficult. It's *VERY* easy to pickup and just sort of do it - and it's actually a pretty natural device, so it's also easy to do things correctly, which is even better. At first you think, "Bah, this is way too easy..." - then keep doing it for a minute - "ok, maybe not so easy..." - then do it for a minute or two more "yeah, this can definitely be a good workout".Will it replace my other equipment? Not on your life - I love my treadmill and functional trainer, but will this start being a part of my rotation to mix things up? Absolutely, for me if gives a good burn, it's quick to setup and get going - not much more to ask.My only reservations (which I'll update this review if it ever happens), is whether or not this thing will break at some point, and if it does, how painful an experience it is. ;) On the suggestion side, I wish it could be made to collapse down and travel well, because if it did, it would absolutely be something I would take on trips for easy hotel workouts - but as it is, it's way too long.

An interesting exercise and unique device which is based upon virbration not reps.
Physical Fitness and the martial arts have been an important part of my life for more than 60 years. Over the years I have tried numerous kinds of exercise programs and many different kinds of exercise tools. One of them was an exercise tool that used vibration to work the various muscles. I lost or misplaced that piece of equipment more than ten years ago, but I recently came across this product on Amazon (Fitryo Total Bar) and immediately sent for it.This unique piece of exercise equipment works the muscles in unusual ways which stimulate and works the muscles by the use of vibration. The bar has a middle portion for gripping it and the rubber caps on the ends provide the vibration. There is a wide variety of exercises that can be done with this piece of equipment. I have included it in my regular workouts and like using it. This unit also comes with a detailed exercise booklet and a nutritional guide. You can also go on line and look up Fitryu Total Bar and there are numerous short clips showing exactly how to use this exercise tool.My only real complaint is that you must have some space to work out in because of the length of the bar; however, even in my limited space I was able to use the total bar without too much trouble.Rating: 4 Stars. Total Bar vs. BodyBlade
I owed a number of BodyBlades (different sizes) years before I tried the Total Bar. While they both work on the same principles, they get there a little differently in my opinion.BodyBlade:It is heavier than the TotalBar and since the natural frequency of vibration is less than the TotalBar it has more range of motion. This makes it more forgiving for a beginner who can vary the frequency much easier with the BodyBlade. I can get an aerobic and/or an anaerobic workout with the BodyBlade. It can be somewhat of a relaxing workout. I can workout with these for minutes at a time.Total Bar:At 270 cycles per minute, this thing cranks. This is one fast anaerobic (interval) workout. If you don't use this at its natural frequency it just doesn't feel like a workout at all. Use it at a fast frequency or don't use it. I generally can't last a minute on any of the exercises. Heartrate skyrockets with this thing. It is a third the cost or better than the BodyBlade Pro.Bottom Line: Both BodyBlade and Total Bar can be reasonable strength workouts with the edge going to Total Bar for strength, especially for good interval workouts. I've been unable to use Total Bar for a traditional aerobic workout though interval work can be used to gain aerobic fitness. I've used BodyBlade for aerobic workouts and it provides a less intense warm up exercise. If you're a beginner and can afford the BodyBlade, it is probably your best choice. If you want to generate lactic acid fast, get a Total Bar. Both brands seem well made to me and have lasted years in the case of BodyBlade and months for the newer Total Bar.

Not ideal
I work as a physical therapist. Have used the body blade brand in the past but thought I would give this a try because of good reviews I have read and significantly less money.Liked the booklets it came with for workout references and it was definitely usable...BUT their is not a lot of flex with this product which is what makes these type of body bars so effect for things like shoulder rehabilitation. The vibrations from the bar moving as you shake it work the muscles more. This when the bar is not as flexible there are not as many vibrations...kind of defeating the purpose. It work fine if your on a strict budget but I ended up returning and splurging for the body blade brand.
