The handle at the lid of the cup is how my son is able to easily pick this up and hold it to drink out of. He will have one hand on the handle and another on the bottom of the bottle while drinking. It is heavier than a small plastic straw cup he used to drink from. He can easily open and close the straw. Keeps drinks cool. It will leak if the straw is OPEN and it tips over. At his age he is pretty reliable about not purposely spilling his drink. Maybe it’s the “new” factor of this cup or maybe the straw is easier to drink from since it isn’t an “anti-leak” straw like many other toddler cups but I’ve noticed he had been drinking much more water vs usual (something that is an ongoing struggle with him). I know most ppl are probably happy it is 12oz, I wish it was smaller sized 8 oz cup.

My daughter has been using a sippy cup since she was 9 months old (she is now 2). I have spent hundreds (and amassed a huge collection) on sippy cups looking for the "perfect" design and checked all my boxes: easy for her to carry (she is missing her left hand), easy for her to open / close, big enough to hold juice for an entire outing or meal, keeps her juice cold, and the BIG box - doesn't leak!!This checks every box and I am thrilled! So thrilled with the first one that I bought 2 more and now it's the only thing she drinks out of. It will last practically forever and will grow with her.I threw out every other cup she had and now we use these exclusively!We have always been big fans of Yeti products and own several coolers and tumblers but this is by far my favorite Yeti purchase!

I have been a big supporter of other brands such as Contigo and the sorts.I did give 3 stars for leakproof as I bought this cup knowing it was not leakproof but it also doesn’t leak as quick as you would think when laid over.The Yeti 12 oz cups are the perfect size to dump a small bottle of Gatorade in (fits the entire cup, or a small cup from most fast food chains) and they keep the drink perfectly cold or warm!I wish I would’ve taken the plunge for my 4 year old son earlier! My daughter who is 18 months old loves her big brothers cup so much that we actually had to buy a pink one for her and they are the cups that both of them use all the time now.They are durable, easy to clean, comfortable to hold/carry and also super cute and come in a variety of fun colors!If you’ve been on the fence about spending the few extra dollars on a Yeti for your child or even yourself, here is your sign to buy it right this instance!

I have three very active kiddos, 2.5, 7 and 9, that enjoy cold water during activities. The insulated water bottles are wicked for keeping their drinks cold. These water bottles are perfect for them. The handles make it easier for each kiddo to carry the around even for my youngest. They happen to fit in the water bottle pocket of the backpacks we use but you can also attach a carabiner. They fit nicely in our car cup holders which is a huge plus as we encourage the kiddos to be responsible for their own water bottle. We had to go over where the threading was for the cover and remind the kids not to fill above that line because you will overflow when placing the cover on, but we absolutely would buy these again! I don’t think we will need to buy more for our guys though because they are sturdy and easy to keep clean.We like the color options too. I would like a silicone cover for the bottom of the bottle because my kids will just chuck them at the table or other surface and these things are hefty. The thud is always shocking. Not a big issue though, my guys are just not thoughtful when placing items down.
