The Pioneer Woman Cooks―A Year of Holidays: 140 Step-by-Step Recipes for Simple, Scrumptious Celebrations

I have all Ree Drummond’s, the Pioneer Woman’s, cookbooks and this was the very last one I purchased. Just kept putting it off since it’s focus was on holiday food and I assumed it wouldn’t be used very often and I have my own holiday recipes I already like to use. Well it started with the pecan pie. I can easily admit her recipe is better than mine, better than most peoples! Maybe everyone’s? I started trying out other recipes from the book too and they have all worked really well. This is a great addition to one’s cookbook library - especially if you like her other recipes/books.

Fantastic cookbook! Simple step by step directions with full color pictures for every recipe!I love PW but even if you don’t, this would make a great wedding shower gift for a new bride.Great buy!

The book itself is made well and came fast. But out of the 140 "recipes" only 3 were usuable for me as something i didnt know already or a different recipe to try. There is mentions of using box cake mix in good amount of recipes. And even one of the counted "recipes" is just telling you to grab a bunch of black colored candies/snacks and putting them on a tray.This may be a great book for someone fresh out of their parents house that doesnt know how to cook but for someone like myself whose been married for years and has 4 kids, these are common sense, been making that exact recipe for years.Basically the most useful recipes were the mixed drinks. I get more from following her Instagram than I did out of this book. I am returning it for a refund.

How many times have you sat down and read a cookbook cover to cover? I did, as soon as it arrived. I just recently discovered Ree when I tuned into a show on the Food Network, and she was one of the celebrity judges. So I am late to her party, but I am making up for it now. This was the first of many of her books I plan on getting. Her life is so wonderful. She and her husband work so hard. Her kids are workers as well. The stories and commentary in the cookbook make the holiday she is highlighting come alive. The pictures of the food, going step by step, makes each recipe move along like she is in my kitchen with me showing me the way. I love this cook book and recommend it to everyone!

It jumps straight from 212 to 244 and even in the index it gives the page numbers for cake eye balls, and candy apples, but those page numbers don't exist. I like the rest of the cookbook but that pisses me off, shouldn't charge this price if its bad print missing several pages.

Grandkids cooked a number of recipes out of this while we stayed with our daughter for the month it took between the two Modern vaccinations. Delightful. So when we got home we bought two to give as gifts to a couple of special families in our neighborhood. Daughters are about to graduate and head off to college, and these delightful recipes are user-friendly (our youngest granddaughter was cooking out of them at age 11). All steps fully illustrated--very helpful! And the recipes produce great-tasting dishes. Highly recommend this ... and other cookbooks in the same series.

I really like some of the Pioneer Woman's recipes and have written down a few from watching her on TV. I have one other of her cookbooks that I really like and have copied out a few from relative's books that I don't have. So when a good friend made Hot Cross Buns for Easter this past year and I thought they were the best I've had since visiting a small CA Danish town bakery, I had to have the recipe. I started looking through her copy of this book and KNEW I had to have it. I think it's now my favorite Pioneer Woman cookbook.

Her humor is refreshing. The recipes are family style and dishes my family would actually eat. I like the fact that most of the items are already on hand so there is no need for a long shopping list of things that will never be used again. The format is easy to follow. The list of ingredients is very clear with pictures for each step, making it easy to follow. Even as an experienced cook, I like the basic style. It also provides you will all the main dishes and sides to make a cohesive meal.

easy to use cook book .the recipies include photos so you can see at every stage how they should look.good value for money as well .for the American products that seem unobtainable ,ive been able to source them via amazon

I love the Pioneer Woman television show and blog; Ree's recipes are great for someone like me who is easily daunted by complicated cookery! Great step-by-step instructions and plenty of clear photographs. So I was pleased to find a collection of recipes for special occasions. Naturally, this is for US holidays and festivals, but most translate over nicely and it's fun to try some that we're not familiar with in the UK.

i love this book i have three of them now. one of the best cook books so far and i have many love how she talks about her family you feel involved just love the book so nicely done and thought out i thought being from the uk it would not be my style cook book. surprised really anyone can follow it thank you

I've been happy with all the Pioneer Woman cook books I've purchased.

What can I say but this is a book for reading pleasure as well as cooking and baking. A lovely insight to Ree's life on the ranch with her family and great recipes too.
