Great quality for a Fair price
The mic seems to be well made and produces fair quality audio. I really like the mic and it will be a permanent addition to my bag. Read below for some more detailed thoughts. *Pro's* -Size is just right for a 5600 Nikon. Not to small and not so large it dwarfs the camera. -Audio quality is much better than I would have anticipated from a mic at this price range. -Connected to the camera easily and the plug has a long enough cord to connect to the camera without having the awkward extra wire catching on everything. -Sliding the Fuzzy cover is easy. Neither cover came loose or slipped during the time that I have used them. *Con's* So far I have not found anything about this microphone that I do not like. If I find something, I will update this review. I have attached a short clip below. Anyone that has ever tried to capture exhaust clips knows how hard it is to get any decent audio. The clip will show how well this mic captures the decibels and doesn't get drowned out. **CAUTION** The exhaust in the video IS loud.

Crispy Sound and Quality!
Soo I bought this mic to start a small hobby during quarantine. I started to get into videography recently and audio Is always the biggest thing for me, I cant stand a video with bad audio. Im always looking for bang for buck products when I shop and this microphone was definitely one. For the price, theres great audio quality and I love that its very portable. I didn’t want a very obnoxiously big microphone to get so much attention when I’m filming. As a beginner I found it very easy to set up and understand how to use. Also something that competitors don’t have is an included deadcat for blocking out wind noises. I started shooting vlogs with this mic and my camera, and it completely changed my overall production. Compared to the original camera microphone, this is a HUGE difference. I also love the fact that there is a green light on the side that helps you know when your mic is recording. I’ve had friends have problems not turning on their battery powered microphones and I love that I’ll always know when mine is on and plugged in. Not to mention it doesn’t require a battery! Thanks for this product, I plan on using it for LONG time! A+ Crisp Quality!!

An improvement over the camera's built-in mic
I've been using my Canon EOS70D to make some semi-pro videos of a speaker making a presentation, for use in this "covid" time, i.e., not in front of a live audience. I originally was recording the sound using a professional mic and recorder, but synchronizing the sound with the video was wasting a lot of my time. I figured that adding an external mic to the camera might solve the problem. Sadly, it did not, but it lead me to investigate further just what the camera's external audio input could do. What I discovered is that the camera really isn't capable of pro-quality sound recording: I fed it a signal from the output of my mic amplifier, using my good mic, and no matter how I adjusted the audio level going into the camera, the result left me wanting more/better. That preamble is important, because it tells you that I really can't evaluate just the mic here. I haven't been able to connect it to my good mic amplifier and test it that way, but my impression is that it's not as directional as I'd like for this application, so it picked up extraneous noises more than I expected. It also didn't have as much audio output as I'd have liked to feed the 70D directly, even in the +20dB amplified position, at the distance from the speaker as we're wanting to position the camera. One problem with using the internal mic when continuous autofocus is on, is that in the recording you hear the autofocus motor. Using this mic did help that a lot. Yes...you can turn off the autofocus, but I really didn't want to. So...this review is more about the difficulties with the system, than with the mic itself. Just be aware that simply adding an external mic like this to your camera setup may not give you the performance you're looking for.

Brittle Plastic, Mediocre Sound Quality
The sound quality of this product (at +20dB) has some hiss, but overall works OK. At 0dB the hiss is considerably less, but still audible. Too bad it doesn't work in passive mode in the "off" position (no amplification). The real problem is the brittle plastic. I'm 50+ years old very careful with my electronics. I have a Pelican case for my camera equipment, including this microphone. I didn't even notice when the base broke, only that it wasn't complete when I went to use it again. This may have been a problem with just my unit, but maybe not. Combining both sound quality (not so great with hiss all the time) and the brittle (now broken) plastic, I cannot recommend this product for the price I paid for it ($40). Better sound quality and a metal base would be great.

Poor sound quality at any distance.
The attachment good the camera is very poorly made. It will break at any moment, I’m sure. The sound quality of this is great when you’re very close but with any distance at all it doesn’t pick up. Very disappointed! I wanted to use this for our daughters wedding.

good price for a mid quality mic
I've been working on setting up a youtube studio in my garage. My primary camera has a wireless mic set attached to it, i have this one on one of my side cameras. It's not a super quality product but I would say its about mid tier. Its going to be good for most voice applications, but I wouldn't rely on it to record music or a concert or anything where the audio quality and detail would be highly important. If you're recording yourself speaking, its a good buy especially given how low this price point is. It will mount on to a dslr or a camcorder, it uses a standard mount and standard mic input. The cord for the mic will stretch about a foot, though I cant imagine why you would ever need to stretch it like that.

Poor quality. There's a loud hiss in the audio that makes it unusable, and the rest of the sound—what little can be heard—is no better than what my camera's internal mic produces.

Ottima soluzione low cost. Kit buono e comprensivo di una pila. Consigliato per chi non vuole spendere troppo. Jack compatibile con la mia NIKON Z50.

semble bien fonctionner, pour bien capter le son pousser sur +20db.

I bought this mic to replace another mic which used a small fiddly button battery. This mic uses an AAA battery which lasts much longer and is easier to handle. I attach the mic to my camcorder when filming soccer which overrides the camcorder's built-in mic and allows me to kill wind noise with the included furry mic cover. The sound picked up with this mic is very good and even picks up the sounds of the ball being kicked or headed at 75 metres distance. I would buy this mic again and I thoroughly recommend it as an entry-level mic.
