Sometimes a song can save your life. Love of music unites the four members of the band Given: hotheaded guitarist Uenoyama, playboy drummer Akihiko, gentle bassist Haruki, and Mafuyu, a singer gifted with great talent and burdened by past tragedy. Their struggles and conflicts may drive them apart, but their bond to the music—and to one another—always brings them back together again. Ritsuka Uenoyama is bored with it all—with school, with his basketball club, and even with his one true passion: playing guitar. i watched the anime, but i always like to read the manga too, just to see what has been changed. The anime and manga follow the same general plot, although i think the anime has added more things in between. Honestly, the author notes are amazing and funny, and i was laughing the whole time reading this. This is a series i enjoy, and i cannot wait until i have it all, (currently i have vol 1,2 and 4 only). It is an overall good story with in-depth characters. I would recommend it

I already watched the anime 3 times and read the manga online. The only reason why i am purchasing this, is out of respect for the writer and to support them. This anime/manga saved me. I still struggle in life, but my life is different after Given. And so is my mentality. I've become stronger, and i was reminded that life is indeed worth living. Give it a read, and watch the anime. Its a musical manga, their music slaps and shakes your soul to the core. 10/10 one of the best romance pieces out there.
