Worked on my 160355 pentair

Saved bunch of coin by just replacing the top. Sun had damaged the ordinal. Bottom was Okay, so it got painted. This top works perfect for a fraction of the price.

Old lid assembly cracked and sprung a leak on the top. Unable to repair. New lid assembly ordered and installed April 2014. The new lid assembly also cracked and sprung a leak on the top and failed April 2020. That is a six year life for a part that is exposed to UV rays, heat, cold, under pressure, and filled with chlorinated water. $75 for a six year pool part is probably a good deal so I'm ordering another one and and hope it last another six years.

1st let me say when I ordered this, I was being told it was at least a week to two weeks before I would receive it. I had a pinhole leak coming straight out the top. Without asking or contacting seller, the replacement unit was at my door next day. So huge props to this seller. I have a pentair clean and clear unit that is so faded from the sun, I couldn't make out the part number but my measurements matched the ones in the description for this one. So I pulled the trigger even after reading other reviews that said the part didn't fit or due to aging the plastic is slightly deformed and you have to put this in hot water first. I experienced none of those issues. This new unit literally dropped in place and I was able to tighten it down with the locking ring. I plan to coat the top with a UV protect spray but suspect the chlorinated water is mostly to blame. My old unit has a 2015 date on it for what it's worth.

When i came home from work to find my yard flooded because the lid to my filter had cracked, i was not happy to say the least. Even more so at the thought of having to spend 100's on a new filter case. So when I found this on Amazon at a fracture of the price, i said " Why not? If it doesn't work, Amazon has an awesome return policy." Got it quickly using my Prime account, replaced it same day, and all is now well with the pool. Which is great because i live in Florida and use my pool a lot. Saved me $$$ on added chemicals since i didn't have to leave my pool pump off for extended periods. I am very pleased with this order and Amazon once again.
