My Side of the Mountain

My favorite book as a kid and now my children’s favorite too. Books came in near perfect condition and delivered on time. Thank you!!

It’s a book, not much I can say about it. It came packaged nicely with no rips or tears or water damage. Bought for our son!

I remember first reading this book in grade school. It is still a wonderful tale reading it again several decades later.

I was a voracious reader when I was younger but I've gradually fallen out of the habit, and I'm trying to rekindle my love of books. After reading the fantastic Jupiter's Travels by Ted Simon, I wanted a short, simple palate cleanser before I dove into another long book. I bought this book because many people mentioned that they had loved it when they were younger. It's a young adult book so it is a very fast, simple read. The plot is a little idealized, and it shows its age a bit, but overall it's a fun book to read, even for adults. Most importantly, it addresses the yearning for adventure that a lot of us still have. I grew up camping and being in the outdoors, but a lot of the younger generation hasn't been as fortunate. This book will give some of them an idea why going out into the woods and forsaking modern conveniences can be fun. Or, it may just be an interesting story to read. Either way, this book is a winner.

A very basic book that I’ve read countless times. I can’t remember when I first read it but I was young. It’s suitable for any age range, especially those who long to be outside with nature.

love this book! been my favorite since 3rd grade!

I loved how everything seemed so wild, like I was eating acorn pancakes and training a falcon. I would love to build a house in a tree, or make a suit entirely out of deerskin. Sam Gribley dealt with living up on the Catskills like it was a normal day in the city. Reading this book made me crave fish, turtle meat, and nuts. I will definitely try to read the second book.

Unfortunately today’s youth will probably find this story of adventure , resourcefulness and courage in the real world incomprehensible. Most youth would rather be in a video simulation (And who’s to say we aren’t already in a simulation) than involved in their ecosystem.

Interesting story of growing up in a small town.

D’habitude je n’aime pas lire, mais j’ai beaucoup apprécié ce livre. Il n’y a pas beaucoup d’action mais c’est très captivant.

This is a beautiful, classic part of my childhood that I'm so happy to read again. After traveling the world and having had a suit wearing career, I find myself now in green, having never lost my love for the deep woods and new adventures. This book played a role in tickling out that youthful proclivity that has decided, after having traveled so many other roads, this direction in my life. It's easy to read, often idealistic and even naive, perfect for children and enjoyable for adults. If you or your kid has ever had a love for nature, self subsistence and escapism, this is for you.
