Oboz Men's Sawtooth II Low

Big fan of Oboz Sawtoothe II. Bought extra pair because of the awful design change! For this particular color, that I really like, it took three separate orders before they shipped the correct size. Twice in a row they sent a 10 instead of 9.5! The size is in big letters on the side of the box! I've a number of pairs of this model over a ten year span. Great support especially for custom orthotics. Soles are good for about three years before I use them for less strenuous functions. Still have a beater pair that's eight years old.

I discovered Oboz back in 2018/2019. First pair I ever owned was the Sawtooth II Low Hiking Shoe. This is my second pair of this shoe. And honestly, I'd say that I can probably get another 2 years if not longer out of the first pair before they start falling apart if they will ever fall apart. I own 4 pairs of Oboz altogether. Two, Sawtooth II Low Hiking Shoe, 1 pair of Firebrand II B-Dry Hiking Shoe, and one pair of Arete Low Hiking Shoe. The Sawtooth II Low Hiking: I like the arch support, the fact you can get it in the wide, they are lightweight, the durability of the shoe, the tread, the stitching, the shoestring, it is all well made high quality. They do need to get broken in. Once they do, they form to your foot and are super comfortable. I wear them for work. I got them first back in 2018/2019 because I was working on concrete all day. And they were recommended to me. Now I am on my feet all day on concrete, dirt, and gravel, and the support for my weak ankles is great. You might ask why I bought a second pair if my first pair can still last, well I had money and I have a shopping problem so that's what I bought. Today is the first day I have worn the new shoe and it inspired me to do a review. Oboz a great shoe. Check em out. The only con I can say is, that I wish they came in more colors for men.

Most comfortable hiking shoe I have worn

I've got five pairs of outdoor shoes, and four of them are Oboz. I'm kind of a giant and need extra long, extra-wide shoes, which usually limits my selection, but Oboz offers multiple choices. I've got these in both the waterproof and standard variations, and both are supremely comfortable and well-crafted. My oldest pair still see daily use--from the 2-3 miles of dog-walking I put in every day to mowing the lawn to grocery chopping--and occasionally going out into the woods, where they're submitted to rocks, mud, tree roots, and all sorts of indignities. I keep another pair relatively nice, but they'll eventually be demoted to replace the mudders. Finally, I have this pair for dry weather hikes--they've keep my feet happy in Badlands Park, Utah, Colorado, and places in between, and I have a pair of ankle-high boots for longer hikes and tougher terrain. All of them fit like a glove right out of the box, required very little breaking in, and show little wear despite abuse. No loose threads, no broken down heel pads. They're truly marvellous--but I have an agenda in my glowing review: I've never had better shoes, and I want to keep Oboz in business so I can keep buying them!

These shoes are very comfortable and the aggressive treads have excellent grip. The soles have plenty of flexibility but still enough rigidity to keep sharp rocks from stabbing your feet all day. The uppers are breathable due to the mesh panels. Overall, the design and build quality are top notch. I like to re-lace all my shoes with bungee laces, so that made these fit even better, but the original laces were fine too. If I had any complaints (which I really don't, but if I did), they might be a touch heavy for some. They basically feel like armor... very protective feeling. Great hiking shoe! Had never heard of Oboz before reading about them in an article evaluating men's hiking shoes. I had hiked in some of the more common brands, but generally reverted to wearing my running shoes in most situations because hiking shoes just seemed too bulky and with little or no cushion. These Oboz were a really pleasant surprise when I tried them on. Great arch support and just enough cushioning to feel good but not "squishy." Tried them on a 4-mile hike with some steep hills and slippery rocks. No problem. Felt so much more stable than my running shoes, and so much more comfortable than any of the hiking shoes I had worn before. No hints of blisters after my initial hike. No discomfort anywhere. A bonus with these shoes is the Oboz insole that comes standard. It's a lot like the ones I've bought for my running shoes that cost from $25 to $40. I was surprised to see such a good insole in moderately priced hiking shoes. And of course, if you prefer a different insole or custom orthotic, you can just pop it out and use your own. UPDATE: Did a 5-mile hike through hilly, rugged terrain in the Daniel Boone National Forest earlier this week. Mud. Slick rocks. Steep inclines. Everything. I never slipped or felt unstable...These Oboz are definitely the BEST HIKING SHOES I'VE EVER OWNED.

Shoes that last! Great fit, and love NOT having Gore-Tex which makes them much cooler and more breathable. Their foot bed is great, but on the very firm size. I always replace insoles with more supportive and cushion anyway.

Sadly had to return, due to injury need a wide fit for right foot. Unfortunate as they seem a well made and comfortable shoe for my left foot anyway.

Using these primarily as walkers. Have been using trail shoes for years as walkers to provide additional support for fallen arch, wide feet and bunion issues. Previously was on Salomon's XA 3D pros (wide), switched to these when the sole worn out. These feel more cushioned compared to the Salomons, weighs roughly similar but less breathable. The lug patterns at the heel also noticeably curves upwards towards the side, possibly to aid traction on trail. Got these to try because Oboz was known for having roomy toebox, but they don't feel much roomier than Salomon's.

My 3rd pair now. Better than any other brand in my opinion. Comfortable and waterproof

When I ordered them the colour wasn't my first choice but when I got them I loved the version of grey and will buy again!
