3-Meter DIY Smart Electric Curtain Tracks - Extendable Remote control motorized drape rails, Work with mobile apps, Alexa, Google Home, DIY up to 300 cm (118")

This is a heavy duty automatic curtain track. The track itself is aluminium, so is light but sturdy.I have bay windows (135 degree angle was perfect) and this particular unit was fitted into my bedroom. My bay window goes up to the ceiling so I do not have a wall to fix the brackets, however, the ceiling brackets (5 of them which are included) are steel and are easily strong enough to hold the 3m track using plugs for the plaster (not included) and the screws (included).As has been mentioned on here previously, if you need to make a cut, which I had to make 2 of - then you really need to take your time to get the surface as straight as possible so that any track joins do not have any gaps, used a junior hack saw. I had a small gap, but it does not seem to have affected performance of the rail or its smoothness of operation.I would also highly recommend watching the videos as whilst there are lots of bags with different components in, the actual putting together is quite straight forward. I cut a a few notches more than the guide to ensure i had enough length - I then trimmed to what I needed once i checked the assembly lengths.Works via Alex and the Tuya app, zero issues setting it up. Remote works well and so does the curtian pull.The only thing that annoys me about the Tuya app is that you cannot open/close the curtains using and Alexa routine (i.e. Alexa, goodnight - which would switch off lights/close curtains etc) - apart from that one annoyance I am going to buy a second rail for downstairs bay window too.TUYA App update:I have found that you can create scenes in tuya that trigger based on conditions. Therefore, if you create a scene that triggers on a 'tap to run' and create one that opens the curtains and one that closes the curtains, alexa will discover these scenes. That means you can create an Alexa routine of 'Alexa, open the curtains' that will call the scene in Tuya for open, instead of saying alexa, turn the curtains on and also allows you to add it to other alexa scenes too! I am one happy camper! Hope this helps someone too.

Been looking to automate the curtains for a while now, kept my eyes on this and have been watching lots of YouTube videos on how to install.Finally went for it and ordered the 3m kit.Arrived next day as per Amazon Prime and the packaging was undamaged.Inside everything was present and all looked familiar due to watching all the install videos.First thing I tried was connecting to the motor, if this wasn’t happening then no point assembling the track.It uses the Smart Life app, which is great as all my smart devices use that and I don’t like to have multiple apps, so would only go for devices that are compatible with this app.Connecting was really easy, make sure you select Electrical > Curtain switch (wi-fi).App control is smooth and it instantly got picked up by Alexa, again voice control just worked.When it came to assembling the track that was also a piece of cake due to the videos and only glanced at the instructions to confirm one thing, plus the instructions were closer than my phone and would have taken longer to bring up the video.Unboxing and putting together I would say probably took me about 20-30 mins, most of that was probably me just playing with the motor once connected to the app.The only mistake I made was over tightening the hex screws that connect the tracks together this wore out the head and after carelessly not aligning the tracks and over tightening and couldn’t reopen and I ended up damaging it more, so I had a 20cm track and small connector that I couldn’t use, this meant that I couldn’t install onto the wall.I contacted the seller and they responded straight away, sent them some pictures and they are sending out replacement parts, I couldn’t asked for more.From the dry runs I did before messing it up it all worked flawlessly, so don’t expect any issues when I do finally install.I can’t see putting it up on the wall taking over 30mins, everything required is provided.May take less time if I can reuse the holes used by the current curtain pole brackets.So far I am very happy....-considering how expensive automated curtains could be, for voice controlled automated curtains these are a very good price, obviously won’t say no to cheaper, as the DIY smart home I’m trying to create is on a budget and without annoying the Mrs.-Easy to install but I would say get rid of the hex screws, especially the small ones, I don’t like them in anything as they eat away too easily, I’m sure everyone knows that sinking feeling you get when you go to do that one final quart turn and it slips :-/I will try to update once fully installed.UPDATE: so after just over a year from when I installed these, I am still very pleased with this purchase.I have them automated now using a combination of Alexa and SmartThings.They close automatically in the evening and depending on if any other of my sensor sense someone is in the room then the lights are turned on, else not.And if curtains are opened while lights are on, then they automatically get switched off.And they open in the morning when someone enters the room.My mic must be very sensitive as the clicking you hear on the video is not that loud in the room.But probably time to WD40 the wheels.Over the past year, it may have been 2 or 3 times when the curtains did not respond to an open or close command, this is probably more wifi or the different app communications then the rail itself.In these instances you just do a slight tug on the curtains and they open or close.Mrs is also very impressed by these to the point that she asks Alexa to open and close the curtains when guests are around, like it’s a party trick!Would highly recommend it, if you are on the fence, just go for it.As with everything, there are always some that are faulty in some way, but support are very good and will resolve any issues you have.

This came well packaged, all components appeared high quality. Everything was included. We needed a replacement track connector and HC supplied this quickly and free of charge. It did take some time to install the tracks, but that was because we wanted to do it right (and I am hard to please!). The videos were very useful. I am really delighted with the result. We have an old-ish house with walls that were challenging, but this system was well designed to cope with all complexities. The design of the system was incredibly well thought out. As for the remote operation, this surpassed our expectations: we did not want to connect to Alexa or any other so-called "smart" system, and in fact it was possible to operate the curtains remotely without revealing personal details or compromising privacy. As I said, this might take you some time to install but, like anything that you want to last, it is worth it. Since installing this system, I have bought and installed an electric blind from the same company (HC). Five stars for it also. (I have ordered two more!)

It works very nicely, but I had difficulties to reverse the motor. The instructions are ambiguous, but if you manage to put it together and get it working, you will be pleased. Robust and absolutely quiet motor.
