iPearl mCover Hard Shell Case for 13-inch Model A1425 / A1502 MacBook Pro (with 13.3-inch Retina Display) (Purple)

The case is a great value. It certainly protects my Macbook Pro from scratches as well as certain types of falls. It's clear but a tiny bit frosty, exactly how I wanted it. The legs on the bottom that allow you to stand up your Mac are a great addition! Great for the feel of a raised keyboard when you want it.The case snaps on fairly easily, but is difficult to take off (I haven't taken it off once in the year I've had it) and it makes me feel like I might break it. As others have stated, your Mac won't be able to tilt _all_ the way back as a result of the added width, but I've rarely ever titled my Macbook _that_ far back; I also doubt there's a case that doesn't have this side effect.I really like the back of the case, but the bottom has it's problems. First, the two soft pads on the corners of the bottom fell off very quickly. One almost as soon as I got it, and the other some months in. It doesn't particularly matter in my use case, but may for you. The more annoying part is that the bottom takes in all kinds of dust, sweat, and hair that gets stuck there. For instance, the dry skin from my wrist (that falls off as you type if your lay your wrists on the laptop as you type) has made the outer edge quite dirty as it's gotten stuck there. As mentioned before, the case is not so easy to take off, so cleaning is not so easy either. Hair has similarly gotten stuck on the underside through the vents for the fan. I chose this case in part because vents are a necessity to have, so I don't mind the hair getting stuck part as it's inevitable to some extent.Regarding the extras that come with this, there's a keyboard cover and stylus. The keyboard cover is awful. It does not stick on and always falls off. It also makes it harder to type as it absorbs the pressure (you want bounce back on a keyboard, not absorption). The worst part though is that the keyboard cover actually made my keyboard exponentially dirtier than it is without it -- which is the exact opposite of its purpose. Because it doesn't stick on, falls off, and doesn't perfectly fit, there are gaps between the keyboard and the cover, which allows dirt to seep in. As the cover prevents it from coming out / being naturally cleaned as it would without the cover, the dirt just accumulates incredibly quickly. I threw the cover in the trash after a week of using it and proceeded to thoroughly clean my keyboard for a half hour...The stylus, on the other hand, is a great value. I actually still use this stylus for my iPad and it replaced an old stylus I had gotten for free somewhere. It's fairly accurate and has a small tip, probably equivalent if not better to a $10-$30 stylus you can buy in terms of accuracy (which is all that matters to me). The material of the stylus isn't anything great, the paint chips off easily, and the clip falls off fairly easily, but nonetheless the accuracy of it (I use this to handwrite notes) is fantastic and far better than anything I would've expected as a give-it-away extra.

I especially liked the provision for avoiding heat buildup, as well as the integral feet which allow the keyboard to tilt up as well as improve ventilation. Easy to install and durable. I recommend it.

Amazing customer service. My item came damaged, and they happily sent me a new one, no questions asked, and also gave me tips on how to fix my warped case. They were well spoken and written.Now, on to the product.This product was supposed to be the ultimate macbook case, with all the reviews stating amazing things about it.I was a little disappointed however. I have used several other cases, including the Ibenzer generic case, with foam pads and clips for attachment. I got sick of the blue color of the Ibenzer case I ordered. I also got sick of the cheap foam pads, and the thumbnail breaking clips. 6 months later, I bought a Lention Clear case. This case was somewhat good when it was new. Non slip rubber pads built into the case, a much better attachment system, with clips less deep, but much bigger, almost like hinges. The keyboard cover they sent me however was less then perfect, with excess space between keys. I attempted to return the keyboard cover, but customer service was simply horrendous and refused to do anything about it. After seven emails, they finall refunded my 2 dollars just for the cover. Then, 2 months later, the case had cracks in several places, and I contacted customer service, and they coldly rejected my claims, said I was abusing the case, and basically told me I was a liar. I got sick of this, and also got sick of the fingerprint magnet finish, so I finally decided to buy the iPearl Mcover...Now, I will only review the non broken case, not the heat damaged case. When I got the replacement, I excitedly put it on, and was a little upset to see that the bottom still didnt fit the way I wanted it to. The case has way too many ventilation holes, and is pretty ugly at the bottom. I feel like they did this to reduce costs in plastic molding. Second, the case has no grip on the surface. The silicone pads dont do much, and the plastic feet are slippery, extended or not. The clips are not as good as the Lention, but they work fine, although hard to take off, and the case fits pretty tight. The tiniest speck will get stuck in between and be a pain to remove.Now, for the good part: It has an amazing finish, and attracts NO fingerprints or anything. While it is not rubberized, It is better for me as I have sweaty hands and the finger print magnet would make it impossible to live with. The keyboard cover was also amazing, I compare the fit to the 13$ uppercase TPU cover. This one is silicone, but still fits perfectly. My only concern is that it keeps falling off everytime I open my laptop, as the cover has an extra millimeter of coverage. Other than that, DEFINITELY the best case yet in durability, with no cracks or any problems with the plastic.Also, iPearl has THE BEST Customer service, better than any other chinese retailer.Ps, iPearl, could you please send me another keyboard cover for free??contact me through this review or through email please.
