More of the same, and looking forward to Vol.2
Firstly, Chris Stapleton is an incredible songwriter. A quick look on YouTube will uncover many live performances of Chris and his wife performing songs which do not currently appear on any of his official releases. This is because he is often performing songs he wrote for other artists. (In my opinion, his versions are usually better).Traveller was an excellent cd which brought Chris into the public eye. His rasping vocals and soulful guitar work meant that he crossed genres through country, blues and rock. From A Room had a lot to live up to, but after hearing the first 3 tracks I knew this release was going to be every bit as good. The songs are heartfelt, pure and timeless. They are well written and well delivered. On the whole, From A Room is probably leaning towards 'blues' more than Traveller, but it doesn't really matter what genre it is, it is another brilliant cd. Buy it.

Each track is a simply great and Either Way is as addictive as crack
Ok ... it's only 9 songs and yes that's a bit weird. But frankly I'll take quality over quantity any old day of the week. If you want a full album of mediocre dullness go get Brad Paisley's latest and console yourself with the larger number of dreary tracks you can listen to.This album has no filler. Each track is a simply great and Either Way is as addictive as crack. So I'm not going to whine about only getting 9 songs for my money I'm VERY happy to pay for 9 great songs on a great album.Im looking forward to part two - which I assume will be more of the same Cobb produced less-is-more production and restrained, careful musicianship and soulful authentic songwriting from CS.Great album and as I say I'll take 9 great songs over 14 tracks of by the numbers countryany old say of the week

he has such an amazing voice and these two albums
When I first discovered Chris Stapleton on spotify one night in december, the first ever song I listened to by him was Midnight Train To Memphis from From A Room: Volume 2 and ever since, I’ve been more and more into his music, he has such an amazing voice and these two albums, volume 1 and 2 are the best I’ve listened to in a long while. It’s that one album that is like a rollercoaster of enotions, you feel happy then you feel sad in all of these songs and at the end you’re emotionall exhausted and you ask yourself “Is it really over?” And then you’ll want to listen again and again

Does the job
Some good songs but shows it is early work. Still a good listen,

Rare quality of songs
Seems a little odd reviewing CD releases in 2019 (ie why wouldn't you just have a listen on one of a gazillion streaming services)..however suffice to say that this is a superb album with brilliant songs. It must be very hard to write country music in a fairly traditional style but still sound "new". Hope there's even more to come from this guy.PS the CD comes in a very flimsy paper/card cover which is a shame but is very reasonable in price.

Country with a twist!
Unlike many albums, this one has tracks which are varied in style. Some are definitely country but that is not the exclusive style. A really great album!
