The concepts in this book are very well presented and clear. It is a great resource for those starting out in intarsia (like me). It clearly sets out and illustrates the skills needed to create intarsia projects. Reading the book, I was confident that I knew and understood not only what the author wanted me to do, but why.I cannot give this book five stars, however. The projects are just too uninspiring. Part of beginning any hobby is working on projects that inspire you as an artist / crafter. The projects were clearly chosen to provide key instructional points, but at the cost of being interesting or something I would want to display in my home. I'm not sure I want to invest as much time and effort into projects which will just collect dust in my shop.In conclusion, this is a wonderful resource full of well-illustrated instruction by an intarsia artist I admire. If you are just starting out, make sure to check the preview and determine if these are projects that interest you. I will keep the book and add it to my growing "shop" library, but doubt I will make many of the projects.

Very good book for the beginning scroll saw instructions.

First off, I looked to Judy as one of the best Intarsia artist in the country. I have thumb through and started read the book. I am getting my wood together and be ready to start lesson one very soon. I can't wait to do all of the projects a few times each.Thanks Judy for helping all of us wannabes
