These plates are awesome! The colors are bright and vibrant, the size is perfect, and the square shape is unique. Extremely pleased with my purchase!UPDATE 1/9/2020: After writing my last review (see below), I decided not having the yellow plate was going to be a problem for me. So I reached out to Sweese and asked how I could purchase a replacement plate. The Customer Service team responded the next day and asked for a pic of the plate and my Amazon order number - which I sent them. They responded with an offer to send me a new set! I was so surprised because I was willing to buy a replacement, I just needed to know what the process was. With all this said, my review is going back to 5 stars! The customer service I received was great. I am so pleased to have a full set again!UPDATE 12/29/19: I heated up some leftovers for about three minutes in the microwave and one of the plates snapped in half as I sat it down on the counter! That was a bummer and I would be more upset, except: 1) the plate that broke was the yellow one which I liked the least; and 2) I purchased this set of plates using money I had left on a gift card, so I only wound up paying about 60¢ out-of-pocket. I'll admit that it IS going to bug me to not have a complete set, especially if I buy the pasta bowl set. Oh well.Even after this, I still like the plates and would purchase more dishes from the Sweese line. Going forward, I won't put these in the microwave longer than 1-2 minutes.

Cute sturdy plates and the colors are vibrant!

The product arrived packaged very well, but one plate was chipped. I suspect it was chipped before boxing bc I did not find the chipped piece inside the box. I contacted customer service and bc I bought a set I could not receive a replacement. That kinda sucked, but I did get a partial refund.Otherwise, the plates are heavy, aesthetically beautiful, appear durable, and are dishwasher safe. They are exactly the look I wanted. I hope they last and no others acquire any damage. I will update this review if they damage easily or otherwise fail to do their job.

My boyfriend bought me the porcelain bowls and of course I need things to match so I went and found the plates. I never thought I’d be this happy over very simple white plates but, they are very sturdy and elegant.Update on 5/31/23: I don’t want them to run out so I bought a second set because I love them!

These fit perfectly in the dishwasher and hold saucy food without spilling. I really like the design. Some of the plates have imperfections on the bottom so the QA process could be better.

I have been hunting for replacement dishes since my old ones were getting so chipped and sad looking. I decided to give Sweese items a try. I chose the bright/hot colours in square shapes - thinking they would go with the remaining few pieces from the old set. Most of the colours do work well & I could do a mix/match for an eclectic table. So far - the dishes go from cabinet to table to microwave to dishwasher without a hitch. They seem sturdy and the colours are vibrant. I love that they are solid colours as it leaves room for table decor to make the statement. I think it will also be easy to add in pieces from other sets or from Sweese.I started with the small square plates to replace my old ones but find the small square plate a little shallow and a bit small for mini-meals or salads (I use the pasta bowls for this) but good for breakfast.Over all - love the quality & have already added to the set (10" square plates, pasta bowls, small bowls & mugs) for 6 full settings of fun, fresh, festive crockery. The price is about average for dinnerware from what I can tell form other shops/websites but eh square shapes are hard to find - so for me - Sweese was the winner

My Sweese square dinner plates arrived today. I got the hot colors and they are very nice and vibrant. Orange, yellow, white, light blue, teal, and dark blue. Three blues are okay... although I would have preferred if light blue was replaced by green to give a bit more variation (I do like having white in the mix). Overall they appear to be nice, medium heavy weight porcelain. They are in the dishwasher now or I would have sent a picture. I also ordered the larger square lunch plates and the square bowls. All were ordered on Black Friday and said Tuesday delivery. Dinner plates arrived today (Sunday), so they were early. Others are now set to arrive Wednesday rather than Tuesday. Either way, it's a pretty quick delivery and they were packaged well and have no visible damage. I'll inspect once more when out of dishwasher. So far, I can't be more pleased!

I'd been searching for new plates and bowls (I bought the matching bowl set too) after discovering that my old, made-in-China dishes were not safe to use in the microwave or bottom shelf in the dishwasher. These plates are sturdy, safe, and so attractive in six vibrant colors. They're the perfect size for sandwiches and desserts, and are now my go-to plate (and bowl) for everything.
