After having some issues with my sciatic nerve and starting physical therapy, I engaged in a "foundational yoga" class, in which I was introduced to exercises with a foam roller. The instructor cited several options where to purchase; Amazon's selection beat the prices she quoted. The roller comes with some basic exercises with good photographs to help a person get started; I've seen several book on using this tool, but to get started, the instructions are enough. Utilizing the foam roller, you can control the pressure on and through various muscles. I believe using this has helped me progress more quickly through the PT, and I sense that I am gaining release in some of my tension areas (like the IT bands and my shoulders and upper back).

This item was suggested to me from my chiropractor. It's a great item for those who do not have a partner to rub down the occasional sore muscle- a great DIY massager and worth the reasonable price of $25.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This was considered a beginner's roller and now I understand why! It is extremely painful to use, but I feel better after using it! It was a good decision to not select one with ridges or knobby areas!

Too firm

This little roller is an absolute wonder! I use it on my entire back whenever it feels painful or like something is sticking. After using it my back feels perfect! I can hear all the little pops up and down my spine as it goes back in place. I love it!

This foam roller is larger (in diameter) and firmer then most foam rollers that I have used. I used it a few times to complete physio activities and actually found that is caused more irritation to my old injuries.The length is nice and wide which is the only redeeming thing I can say about it.
