Litter Genie Deluxe Scoop

I bought this for the Litter Genie someone gave me when he gave me his cat. I already had a Litter Genie I had bought new and that one came with scoop and scoop holder. I like the Litter Genie system better than another system I had tried, so I was glad to accept the hand-me-down even though it came without the scoop and holder - now I have a Litter Genie for each floor of my house. I was super-pleased to find I could get a scoop and holder for the hand-me-down! One problem - it seems to impede the secure closure of the unit. The unit has the slots for the holder and it fits in securely but no matter which side I install the holder on it's a struggle - but not impossible - to get the upper half of the Genie to align so that the catch snaps. I still give scoop and holder a high rating because I love having all my implements right at hand and I count the closure issue as a small annoyance - you don't have to open the bottom half of the Genie all that often unless you have a lot of cats. Besides, the problem may well be not with the holder but with my Genie, since was used for years before I got it.

The Litter Genie is a great product, that as a cat owner, I would not want to be without. It's only flaw is the litter scoop and holder that came with it are ridiculously small. This holder is nice and large and should be what comes with the Litter Genie in the first place. The scoop itself is not the best, but I am happy that the holder is large enough to contain one of better quality. I think Litter Genie should include this holder on their product. It should not be an additional purchase. Including this holder by itself on the Genie and allowing people to use the scoop of their preference would be better than the tiny holder and scoop currently included.

The scoop is made of a type of plastic that isn't very rigid and might work better for non-clay litters.However, we bought a nice scoop that didn't fit in the small litter genie holster and it fits well in this one. When I bought this item, I bought it less for the scoop and more for the hostler that holds the scoop. It was totally worth it to buy both separately in my opinon. the holster itself is worth the money, but 5 stars would have been for a perfectly sturdy scoop too.

I like the size of the scooper, and I also like that it has a holder that attaches to the side of the Litter Genie container. However, the handle is very flimsy and twists too easily. When I'm trying to scoop a big clump, this makes it difficult, especially if it has to be scraped from the side of the litter box.I will be looking for a different scooper that can fit in the holder.

small holder broke off, and I got this to replace it. the scoop is too long so it's too flimsy. I use the original scoop which is better in my opinion. glad to have the holder working again though.

I bought this for my mom after she somehow lost her scoop and holder when she was cleaning out the genie(she says she was dumping it upside down over the trash can and it must have fell off.) I will say the scoop holder does not attach very well to the genie and is not maid to turn upside down. The scoop itself is much bigger than standard and strong enough to scoop with. I'm not sure why some other reviews say it is too flimsy as mine is rock solid and does not bend or twist.

I didn't realize that the genie already came with a shovel. That was not made clear in the write up, almost as it had been on purpose.It was also awkwardly big for dumping into the Genie.I ended up tossing it out (and did not care for the Litter Genie, either, anyway, despite great hopes for it taking the stink out of the litter box process.)

The large size is great, but unfortunately the plastic is more flimsy than it ought to be and makes it a difficult scooping up bigger clumps or sifting down to the bottom of the litter.
