The T27 is a revolutionary developmental achievement for TORC helmets. This new European inspired design takes the modular helmet to new places in both a pricing and overall footprint size. This helmet checks in at nearly 20 percent less physical size, than the model it replaces. Major advancements in EPS technology allow this helmet to be smaller and more compact, all the while offering every bit the protection as much larger and bulkier competitors. This helmet features significant intake venting and incredible Venturi venting for the rear exhaust. The slider based drop down visor mechanism is reminiscent of devices which cost 4 times the price. The latching system for the front chin bar features a one button release mechanism. The front bar is fastened by stainless steel posts and a metal on metal locking system. The head form fit is an intermediate oval. The shell and chin are made from a thermoplastic alloy. The liner is fully removable and machine washable. In addition to these features, this helmet comes fully equipped with improved Bluetooth 2.0 technology to insure compatibility with your Bluetooth enabled cell phone, android, or iPhone. With two built in speakers, up to 8 hours of continuous talk time and 150 hours of standby time, the T27B allows you to receive and send calls, listen to stereo music streaming from your MP3, phone, or XM radio, as well as listen clearly to GPS directions (Incoming cell calls automatically override other communications, but the new call reject feature can limit interruptions). Combine two or more BLINC enabled helmets, and enjoy communications from rider to passenger, and passenger to rider (intercom), or talk bike to bike (2-way communications within 100 feet). Other features include a noise cancelling microphone, full duplex communications with DSP Filter, Self-adjusting volume, glove friendly and waterproof controls. This new model is both ECE and DOT certified. Meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 218

For the price, it's tough to beat!
I bought this helmet for the Bluetooth and because I already had another Torc 27 with BT and wanted to pair them together. The BT works well and I can hear most of my audio and GPS even at higher speeds assuming I am riding the motorcycle with a windscreen. If not, it gets iffy at about 60mph. With the windscreen, I hear it all up to 100mph, at about the same volume as lowering your windows in a car with your radio at a normal volume. You'll hear it but the details start getting a bit obscured. The controls for the audio operation take a quick second to figure out. For example, there are no Siri, Google or Alexa capabilities. To raise and lower the volume is easy - toggle forward or backwards with a tone to notify you that there is nowhere left to go. The skip tracks is the same as lowering and raising volume (back or forward turn of a dial), except one needs to hold the dial for a clear second or two in order to complete the operation. To skip 5 tracks will take about a clean 10 seconds, for example. I don't make calls while driving - EVER. Answering calls is easy, tap the side button. They can't really hear you if you're driving fast, especially without a windscreen.I also purchased a couple of visor replacements for this helmet. I bought the chrome and dark black visors and mainly ride with the chrome. I have received many compliments around town simply walking around stores and having people ask about my "Iron Man" helmet using the chrome visor, stating that they had seen me riding and thought I had the coolest looking helmet they'd ever seen. Once they find out it has BT and speakers, it's on. I may as well be a rep for Torc at that point. The helmet runs 2 sizes too small in my opinion. I first ordered this according to the sizing chart and had to return it. Takes 2 days to get to me but 9 days to get back and be refunded. That was a bit aggravating. That said, I have found and reviews confirm that their chart is off by a mile despite my measurements being spot on. The foam at my "correct" size was simply too hard against my cranium. I was a large according to their chart and really needed a XXL. They don't offer an XXL in this model that I am aware of, so I ordered the XL and it's passable but still a bit tight, especially on longer drives where I find the pressure against my forehead to be a bit too much. I suspect over time the foam will conform to my head a bit. The jury is still out on that...The helmet offers really decent airflow. There are two main vents and both offer great cooling, however, the more air in means the less you hear music. I have found that installing a volume booster on my device works to overcome this. The visor remains up while driving up to certain speeds and then will close on you due to air pressing it downward. That said, if you lift the face mask entirely, it stays up and is nice to have on really hot days in FL. or when you want to go into a store for a moment and not have to deal with taking off the helmet. I prefer not to walk into any store these days with a closed helmet where nobody sees my face. That said, it is also pretty decent at keeping air out if you need that feature for colder days. There is a nose shield and a chin shield that both serve to control air from entering the helmet on cold days. That is nice. Both are made of rubber and they simply plug in or get pulled out when not in use. Easy. There are a lot of helmets out there but I have found Torc to be a brand I like and the quality of the helmet is very good. I just wished they offered more visor options. This model was discontinued and the Torc 28B is what is sold now and offered in their newest catalog. The 28B is offered in XXL.

Well worth the money, especially with buitl in blue tooth
I was a little concerned about buying this helmet without being able to wear it first, but I was pleasantly surprised! First, let me say that the sizing chart shown on the description is a little off. I decided to go with an XL helmet but probably should have gotten a large helmet instead. The fit is overall good and it is comfortable after 6 hours of wear so far. It is kind of hard to find the sun visor lever when riding, but I do love the fact that it's built in rather than having to change my shield. The two best features of the helmet are the helmets modular design and built in blue tooth. Having used a Scalarider on another helmet, I wanted one that was built in this time. The sound quality is decent, but don't expect to hear your music/phone conversation well above 60 MPH. It was easy to pair my phone with the helmet and charging it was simple, although I'd prefer not to have to take part of the cushions out to do so. The wind noise is about average, at least based on Shoei's I've worn. To be fair, my helmet size might have a lot to do with the wind noise. To summarize, you can't beat the helmet if you're looking for a modular system, especially one with built in blue tooth! I'd recommend it.

Worth it.
Day one, I unpacked this helmet and was surprised at how much lighter this helmet is compared to my old bell qualifier. Charging the helmet was as described by most, kind of hard to get to but in a good place. I was worried about how the speakers sounded while wearing it in my living room, but thank goodness, the sound is decent when thrown in with mild wind noise. It has plenty enough volume for me as I listen to mostly edm while riding but is lacking on bass as many others have said. Most of the wind noise came from the bottom of the helmet, just behind my ears.Helmet feels great in the cheeks. I chewed gum while wearing it at home as a test and only bit my cheek once, not bad at all. It's light and I also felt like I was highly visible (Hi-viz yellow is bright). The Bluetooth pairing is difficult unless you read the instruction thuroughly. I didn't so it took me around three minutes. There is also some interference when nothing is playing or idle. I'm not sure if it's network refresh or what and my previous Bluetooth setup had the same problem. Maybe my bike is trying to contact the mother ship.I will be buying another helmet for my wife. I suggest this helmet very much.
