Great for most starts
I used these to start dozens of plants for spring planting. They worked great for most everything except that some varieties of lettuce and my basil starts did not like how much water was retained in the peat right up close to the stem. Even after planting, the peat cups kept the basil stems too moist causing a stem rot to set in. Good product, just be aware that if your plant is moisture sensitive you might need to use a different starter strategy!

Wonderful for mass planting
I supply over 1,000 plants annually to various non-profit groups that hold plant sales for fund-raisers. I grow flowers, herbs, and a variety of vegetables, all started in these peats. I have over 95% success with germination, and over 90% success in up-potting to set-out stage. I do all my own up-potting, and these peats make it easy to do a couple hundred a day. I've seen reports that the netting around the pellets inhibits root growth so seedlings don't grow well, but that has not been my experience. My last round of tomatoes grew to 22-24 inches in 2 months, and the ones I kept for myself grew to be 6 ft and produced more tomatoes that we could eat. Some people object to planting the netting, so when I up-pot I carefully remove the netting. Sometimes I'll break a root, but that doesn't seem to have been a problem for me either. As long as I keep starting large number of seeds, I'll keep using these.

Great big 50mm pellets
Bought as refills for tomatoes specific seed starter greenhouse. Like the tiny jiffy peat pellets but muck bigger size. I used them last year and they're great for large veg seed starting. Work fantastic about the width of a silver dollar and 2 inches in height. Got them at a screaming deal too! Thanks, I preordered for next year too.

Great product
The pods works as advertised and I like the fact that the company is a domestic business. The price was excellent too.

Smaller than expected does the trick
Good product, does the trick. Easy to use “AT FIRST”. Seedlings are sprouting! Did not expand as much as I thought they would. I wish I went with at least one size up. Seedlings are only about 2weeks old and will need to be repotted soon. That’s very disappointing to me as it takes away from the easiness of product use if in 2-3 weeks seedlings need to propagated but aren’t ready to be planted outside. Comes in a large resealable bag.

Easy Peasy.
I call these peat pods. They remind me of the movie "The Body Snatchers" whenever I watch them swell up after watering! Anyway, these are terrific for seed starters, especially those plants which requires delicate handling. With these there is no disturbing the roots of your seedlings when transplanting. You just plop the peat pod directly into the prepared ground and the roots will continue to grow through the peat and into the soil. Easy Peasy.

Growing real soon
The pellets are convient and useful once you find trays that can accomodate the pellet size. I took a few of the pellets and put them in starter trays, then hydrated and planted some seeds. My plants are growing and the pellets provide perfect moisture control.

Not good for me
Used them to germinate flower seeds- germination is good, but the seedlings are very stunted and show very poor growth for weeks and then they die
