Good coil with expected results.
The previous owner of my 1953 Chevrolet truck put a 'high performance' coil in the truck. It was rated at .7 ohms resistance and something like 40,000 volts. The problem was that the ballast resistor in series with the coil was still not enough to reduce the ohms running through the points, resulting in the points welding themselves together... not good. ANYWAY, switching to this coil with 1.5 ohms provides enough additional resistance to keep the points cool, and the voltage output through the spark is fine. My truck has never run better and the points may outlast the truck now.
