Good value for the price. Very attractive.

I looked through all the journals to be had on Amazon, and even looked on eBay, wanting to find something that would be perfect for my needs. I found several of the Peter Pauper Journals that I liked, but was unsure if I'd like them because I was worried that the gilding would be gaudy and the covers all shiny and slick and modern-looking. When my journals arrived and I opened the box, I found all my worries to be for naught.These journals are exquisite! They are not gaudy, they are nicely bound and beautifully designed for someone who wants a place to keep their thoughts.This Klimt design is very nice, on the front and on the back, with a muted gold blank spine which could very easily be labeled or written on with a title or date. The gilding is there, but it's subtle, it does not overpower, and it's just enough to heighten the pleasure of looking at the cover. The lines on the pages are not dark, they are also muted. Nothing intrusive, just enough of a line for guidance in writing. Even the gold sales label with the bar code is nice (I know that sounds insane, but it IS nice) - I peeled it off the back cover but stuck it on the inside of the back cover to keep it. The elastic band attached to the back cover for holding the journal closed or perhaps marking your page is also very thoughtfully designed to not get in the way of writing.I really think this journal is well-designed and I'm delighted to own it. I will buy more when I fill these. Bravo, Peter Pauper Press!

The journal is beautiful; the picture on here really doesn't do it justice. There are some parts that are holographic on it. It's very well constructed and sturdy as well. The paper isn't anything remarkable but it's definitely not thin, cheap notebook paper.Now as far as the size... I was definitely expecting something a bit larger. It was about as tall as I expected but it definitely wasn't as wide. It's a little hard to write in it because there's not much room to write. This also means you can fit less writing per page.Next time, I will probably choose something a little larger. But if you don't mind something smaller, this journal is definitely a good choice.

I love these journals. This is my second journal..good price, lovingly made, I feel good writing my thoughts in it..

I bought this journal for my sister who loved the cover design. It has specks of gold foil and embossing in calming earthy, muted colors. Very good quality. Great to give or have. However, the size of the notebook was smaller than expected. There was no dimension of the journal on the site. I didn't measure it before I gave it to my sister so I would guess it to be around 5" x 7"x1/2" thick. I would have given it 5 stars but deducting one for the lack of the size information on the site.

This lovely journal (smaller than A5, slightly bigger than A6) is another example of the quality and beauty of Peter Pauper stationery. It has the usual high quality delicately-lined paper that is even suitable for fountain pens, the bookmarker and pocket inside the back page. Just a nice size to pop in your bag...
