Perfect For My Dogs' Bone Broth--And A Lot Of Other Things
These portion pods are exactly what is needed to portion and freeze my dogs' bone broth. The pods are accurately sized, the broth cubes pop out with little effort, and they are stackable. I make about 2 gallons of broth at a time, skim the fat, filter the gritty stuff, and pour into 1/2 cup portion pods. These trays stack six tall in my freezer, so I get the full 2 gallons into 12 trays without taking up the whole freezer. I checked with the maker of the silicone cubes. They look like they might be superior in some ways, but they can't stack with liquids in them, so they're out of the running. I am buying a single new tray today because after 3 years of use 8 times per year, one of my trays split when I was twisting it to remove the cubes. This is the first failure I've seen, and I suspect it is the biggest weak spot for these trays. To address some of the negative reviews . . . The lid is loose fitting. This is true, but it shouldn't be a problem. These trays are not designed for long-term storage. They are designed to freeze your food into uniform chunks that you can transfer to freezer bags. If your freezer stays around zero, the cubes won't stick together in the bags. They take up too much space. True again, but, again, they're not designed for long-term storage. Freeze your stuff, transfer to bags, and wash the trays for later use. That said, they DO take up an excessive amount of space in storage, because they don't nest at all, and they are an odd size that won't fit neatly into any storage boxes I've found. I'm not sure how to make them nest while still being stackable when full, but if anyone comes up with a portion pod equivalent that stores and stacks, I'll be buying a bunch of 'em. For those who say the portion size is inaccurate, the pods are liquid measure. If you are trying to fit 4 oz of, say, chili into the pod, it will not fit, because chili is less dense than liquid. The pods hold 1/2 cup of liquid, or 1/2 cup volume of whatever you're wanting to freeze. Bottom line, these are not perfect. But they're the best option I've found for this task. If Progressive is reading this, please look into making your trays more storage friendly and more durable for the amount of twisting required to get the portions out of the pod. I'll be happy to test any new designs you might come up with.

The Magic Bullet I Needed
I didn't even know something like this existed until I stumbled upon it by accident. We are big on cooking, so we always have to open up a carton of broth or a can of coconut milk and only use some of it, then try to remember to use it up in time before spoiling. Which, even under the best of intentions, fails a decent portion of the time. The only other way we'd been doing it was freezing the entire carton, which then makes it impossible next time if you have half a carton frozen but only need 1 cup to cook with. After finding this product, we have no more waste! I chose the half-cup portions because usually recipes need either half or whole cup so I can just grab what I need, and toss it right into the pot. Love love love. It's a very high-quality item and the silicone cover is perfect. I wish all my ice cube trays had a cover like that. I highly recommend! It'll pay for itself in no time in all the saved broth and milk. I'm sure tons of other uses will come up too!

Convenient way to Freeze Leftovers
This tray worked perfectly to freeze just the right amount of homemade spaghetti sauce. After they froze I popped them out and put them in a freezer bag to pull out individually for dinners. Stacks nice in the freezer, the cover is very sturdy so product does not leak out and it did not get stained at all from the sauce. Also can use for portions of soup or anything else you may have.

works good
4 stars because the lids are kind of flaky. I purchased these to portion out sauces, soups, etc for the freeze dryer. We pre-freeze our items and pop them out of the molds before putting on the trays. The molded items barely fit, so you may want to fill these only 1/2 to 2/3 full before pre-freezing. There is no way the mold will fit on the freeze dryer tray. The trays are plastic, not silicone, the lids are silicone.

I love this thing!
I like to cook ahead and freeze! I have a silicone ice cube tray for freezing garlic, one for ginger, and now this one for other things like my rice! perfect half cup portions, and very easy to use, easy to clean, easy to get the frozen items out of the tray, it's covered so that nothing including smells get into the food you are freezing. I have only used this for rice so far but plan on using it for tomato sauce, my cashew sauces, and such the Shape is so easy to put into other containers and save in the freezer it's perfect! wish I had found this little gadget years ago!!

Love these! Freeze well and easy to clean!
I make my own dog food for my 3 dogs in large batches. I was looking for a freezing and storage solution and this was the perfect idea! I bought the 1/2 cup portion size, and it is perfect. I fill the trays and freeze them, and they are super easy to clean. Very happy I bought this. I struggled with how to portion food before, and it was a mess. These make the process so much cleaner and easier. This would be great for soups as well. I may purchase more in the future.

Nice product
I bought two of these. They are perfect for freezing liquids and then moving them to a vacuum sealed plastic. I do not recommend these for long term storage because the silicone over the top does not form a tight seal. Freeze foods in these like you would an ice cube tray then pop them out and vacuum seal in plastic. I use these mostly for my homemade spaghetti sauce.

These is the storage solution you need
I'm very impressed with this freezer tray. It is my second as I also have the 1 cup size that I use for single servings of leftover soups or casseroles. I cook a lot and sometimes nobody else in the house likes something and so I like to store for later. I recently made a big batch of tomato based pasta sauce and didn't feel up to the task of canning it. Freezing has its issues because the containers always break. So I tried this to mold the sauce and then store in a vaccum sealed bag. After I poured it I worried about the sauce turning the plastic colors or wondering if I should have oiled it a bit. Nope. There was no discoloration and the sauce popped right out. Such a handy tray!

La base es rígida
Creo que el diseño sería mejor si la base fuera de silicona también. Al congelar los alimentos es difícil sacar la porción, pues el empaque es muy rígido.

If freezing the cover is loose fit so frost bite will happen.
Was bigger than I thought, Just fit the freezer draw. The blue cover was loose took 4 days for the frost to start. mental note to rebag once frozen to fix that problem. the last picture Is my food-saver bags. great to keep the frostbite out and more space in freezer draws. also bought the 2-cup freezer pods good for soup will do the same after the food is frozen and placed into my food saver bags no frostbit then.

Vraiment pratique!
Pour de petits restants de portions. Une fois congelé, on transfert ds un sac à congélateur et on réutilise notre bac pour autre chose. Pas besoin d'en avoir plusieurs. Juste quelques grandeurs différentes c'est pratique!

Worth rebuying
These are excellent for flexible freezer meals prep. Freezing different sized portions of vegetable, pasta, sauces etc allows you to build a range of meals from your frozen stash. I use them to make freezer meals for my older relative. A casserole portion with a rice portion, or a full roast meal with gravy, with each food a separately frozen portion so the meal is not a mess of smerged food. The silicon lid sits well and they are stackable in the freezer. I empty and wash them in the dishwasher the following day. I have been using these in multiple sizes for over 3 years and they are still clean and perfect. I dropped this size on my hard floor when full and solidly frozen and broke the casing. It was absolutely worth replacing. Be aware that the lid is not an airtight seal so you need to keep it level if freezing liquids to prevent spills.
