A tremendous amount of thought, design, and testing went into these hooks and eventually my Dad would file and receive a patent to protect the design of the hooks (because thatโs what patent attorneys, who are engineers, and organized woodworkers do!). He named them TalonHooks (like the talons on a bird that ensure a firm grip). Needless to say, they are one of a kind!

These are working out better than some metal hook sets
They may be plastic (nylon) but they fit more securely and steadily than all the metal hooks I have. In all cases I am using them with metal pegboards having no thickness and also a metal pegboard with flanged holes having some thickness. I can safely assume they will work well with Masonite boards. The nylon seems pretty durable and has no problem holding heavy pliers, wire cutters, etc.The screw doesn't actually need to be screwed in to be pretty secure, however when you screw it in, the insert gets wider and is very tight. Removal isn't a big deal, unscrew the nylon bolt and maybe use a thin screwdriver to lift it up at first. For light-medium duty, I'll buy these again over the metal ones any day.

Worth the money
These are good. What I really like is that the 48 piece Masterpack is ideal for my needs, many other companies only sell the Masterpack in a double set, at double the price. I got what I needed without having stuff I don't need.So far I have used the straight long hooks, the bent hooks, the shorter thinner hooks and the bracket hooks. They installed "ok" some were really hard to get out of the hole and reposition. They are worth the money, if one decent tool doesn't pull out of the pegboard, it's worth it.Would buy again, but really don't need to, the bit I just got will work for the foreseeable future.

Too many in package $$
Plastic. Black color makes them hard to see. Bag they are in not resealable.

Pegboard Hooks that Stay Put
At last, I can get a tool from my pegboard without the hook coming with it. These hooks have locking screws that keep the hooks in place but can be removed with a screwdriver.

Expensive, but good hook sets
I have now purchased two sets of these hooks. I have only had time to install a few of them but so far they appear to hold well and seem strong. As others have indicated, I also think the retaining screws should be steel vs. plastic. They also look good on my white pegboard wall!

One of the best things I have ever purchased
I am just a average home owner / DIYer, so my tools only get light use. That being said after having my crappy pegboard hooks fall out for approximately they 9 millionth time when grabbing a wrench I finally broke down and paid for these. It's a simple little luxury, not having to replace a hook every single time I use a tool and totally worth it.Awesome product!!!

Nah
These things are just too hard to relocate. The retention screw just doesn't work like you would hope. You can't really screw it in - you just push it and it slides into place. That part is fine, but I think the intention is that the threads will grab when you unscrew it. That just doesn't work, though. It is bad enough to need a screwdriver to move them around, even worse that it's a weirdo small phillips you probably don't have handy, but the worst part is that it just doesn't work and the screw doesn't come out.

Pricey but the best
Best hooks ever. Glad I found them. They are stronger than you would expect. Remember they are nylon not plastic. Contrary to reviews I've read they do fit wall control steel peg boards. They snap in tight and you'll need to pry them off but they work great. The trick is to pull the "screw" out until installed and just push the "screw" in. To get it out pack it out with a screw driver till you can grip the head and pull it out. This procedure can be done dozens of times without damaging it at all.
