The color is not purplish as pictured. Its thin and light weight with a soft backing.

I have another 4x6 traditional print rug from mylife which is much softer and dirt/fur resistant. This one is thinner, feels more comparably more scratchy under my feet and attracts too much fur. Also the black isn't true black has a greenish tint - more towards one end, probably the one that was exposed to light wherever these were stored. Using them in my kitchen since they are machine washable(delicate cycle). They are otherwise good rugs and fare well in high traffic area / with pets.

So I don't usually post reviews, but this rug is just so great I couldn't help it! At first look I was surprised because the fabric almost has a shine to it, like velvet. But it is soft and incredibly easy to keep clean. I have a young child, a dog and two cats... rugs never last in our house! This rug has had juice spilled on it and muddy dog paws (spring in New England) and both wiped right off! Didn't even soak through to the backing. It truly keeps everything on the surface while being a classic decorative piece to go with any room.

This rug has done exactly what I wanted it to do - catch cat litter before it spreads through the house! It's an attractive rug, which was important because it's in my main room, much prettier than one of those vinyl mats. It catches the litter and stops it, but it comes right off when I shake it off outside. I know that's not what this pretty rug was meant for, but it's a perfect solution for me.

Looks nice but the color in the photo looks like light grey- beige. It's actually cream color.

I ordered black, appears to be navy. Pricey for the quality but they're non-skid and do work well in my foyer.

Yes, the rug is more of a mat then a rug, but that is why it is so great if you have pets. The cat and dog hair does not stick to it like it does to cut pile. I haven't had to machine wash it yet.
