will a protected 14500 battery fit in this light or is a protected battery to long to fit in this light?

Check out Orbtronics 14500 cells. I threw one of those in my Olight i3T and wow. It gets warm rather quickly. I think with that specific battery (Orbs Batt), it’d be better suited for a light like this…

What 14500 rechargeable battery brand is recommended for max brightness?

I agree with LonelyDad's answer about brightness correlating with voltage and 'duration' of the stored light depending on mAh rating of the battery. I'm happier with 'name brand' (and therefore more expensive) batteries, than with unheard of brands with outlandish mAh ratings at unbelievably low prices. The Lumintop Tool AA is sufficient for my EDC needs with an Olight 14500. If you want brightness, consider a 'brighter flashlight'. There are some real worm-burners out there.

can someone please recomend a good protected battery for this light on amazon?

I got the EBL 4pk of 14500 800maH batteries and they work great, but beware that they are NOT 'AA' batteries....they are 3.6v batteries so you cant just put them in anything!!!

Will it use14505 batteries?

The 14505 is a bit bigger than the 14500 battery (that the flashlight is rated for). Also the flashlight elect circuit may not accept the higher amperage.
