PILOT Precise P-700 Rolling Ball Stick Pens, 0.7mm, Black, 12-Pack

You can fly with these pens. They are very fine pointed, as well as attractive. I have been using these pens for years, and they remain my favorite pen. I have introduced them to friends and family over the years when they see me using it, and they start getting it, too.

When Bic decided to stop producing the Triumph .5 pen I was enormously bummed. I do a lot of writing and that was the best pen I ever used. I searched and tried a ton of different pens trying to find something as good. It was a constant let-down and waste of money. Most extra fine pens are either to rough to use or lack the needle tip for the best experience. When I found the Pilot Precise P-500 expectations were low since no other .5 pen I had tried was even tolerable. I was incredibly pleased with this pen. Not only does it have the correct needle tip, but it also writes pretty darn smooth. So much so that I have put away the last couple Triumphs I still have left. I now use this pen almost exclusively. If your a very picky pen snob that needs a very fine, needle tip pen to replace the Triumph....this is the best you will find. I found them to have a very brief break-in period before it's smooth writing. I have found one so far that doesn't write as smooth as I want. But even the Triumph had a bad pen or two in a box of 12. It's no small feat for a manufacturer to produce such a fine needle tip that also writes smooth. Pilot managed to crack the secret with this pen. I HIGHLY recommend them.

I love these pens (blue) and have been using them exclusively for about 10 years. Before retiring, my empolyer purchased these pens and I fell in love with them. Now I buy my own and when someone compliments me on the pen, I give them one. Each pen lasts for a long time, no smearing, no leaking.

Great pen - writes smoothly and cleanly. Requires much less pressure than ballpoint pens I've used in the past, and ink flow is always good, even when I've accidentally left the cap off for an hour or two. I haven't gotten any large blotches of ink, which happens sometimes with ballpoints. Very fine, excellent for note taking, writing, small sketches, etc. However, if your hands are slightly damp, they'll smear ink that hasn't dried immediately after writing. Some small gripes - the cap is made of a hard, brittle plastic, and tends to form small cracks. The cap also doesn't have any holes in it, which might be a choking hazard around children. Edit: I accidentally bent the thin metal tip on one of these about 45 degrees when I was trying too hard to scribble something. Bent it back, then accidentally pushed it all the way into the plastic head when attempting to get it to write again. Had to use an Xacto knife to cut off some of the plastic, and it still works, ink flow is great, although it sometimes starts a little dry as the little rubber cap in the cap no longer contacts the metal tip. 5 stars.

I've been using this pen for a while. I love it. the ink is smooth, dries instantly, never clogs or skips. I hate it because it's so much finer and smoother than my extra fine pilot falcon fountain pen those costs $150 and my right leg; or feels like it did. the reservoir lasts a surprising amount of time. when used in art, the line width is totally consistent. when used with watercolor paints on top, the ink holds maybe....40-60% after a medium wash. which isn't bad given that it's not using dedicated waterproof inks. here's the most incredible thing: it's weightless. or rather, it requires like zero weight pushing down to give you crisp, perfect, consistent lines. it's annoyingly perfect. for art, you can draw loose and never feel a single hand strain. for writing, it's sublime. I'm not sure why I'm writing this good review. pilot is already rich. this is just maybe...homage. to say thanks for making a crazy nice pen that costs about a buck.

These are some of the best pens that I have ever sued. The ink is bright and the line is solid and clean and does not skip. I wish that they were clickers though, because I have a bad habit of losing caps off of pens and never finding them again. Otherwise these are perfect and have a nice feel and weight in the hand. The design is simple and elegant and they write for ages before you have to replace them. A very good buy for someone who writes a lot and wants to keep their hand from cramping.

I recently ordered four models of .5mm Pilot pens (G-2, Precise, V-Ball, and P-500) in order to compare them. They are all 5-star pens, but the P-500 is best. The ribbed plastic grip on the P-500 is simple and effective. A very thin layer of ink comes out every time. The thin layer is very consistent, dries quickly, and as a result this pen has tremendous capacity. The end result of writing with a P-500 is easier to read than when I use the other pens. You can write smaller and it will still be legible. In contrast, the more popular .5mm G-2 can "hiccup" (no ink comes out for a very brief amount of time, leaving part of a letter blank), especially if you have a light touch, and seems to run out of ink faster. The difference is probably in the ink formula and/or because the P-500 has a patented "needle point" tip. Because it is gel rather than liquid ink (like the V-Ball and Precise), the P-500 doesn't blot if you pause with the pen on the same place on the page and is less sensitive to pressure. This leads to more consistent handwriting.

The Pilot P-500 Extra-fine Pen has been my go-to pen for over two decades. I have always found these pens to be reliable, and if you enjoy extra fine writing, I heartily suggest you try it. I use the black ink version almost exclusively, but there is a four color set consisting of red, blue, black, and green. I had one in purple as well, but I'm not sure if that color is still available. I only wish that the P-500 came in the same color variety as the Pilot Precise V5 RT. On a final note, I have found Pilot's customer service to be first rate, at least based on an experience I had 20+ years ago. I contacted the company sincerely complimenting this pen, and told them that I was surprised that I'd gotten a rare bad set with many of the P-500s glob on the paper. Normally I wouldn't complain to a company, but I was writing my wedding thank you notes and only had a limited number of the cards that matched my wedding invitations; sending globby, smear written notes wasn't really acceptable. Upon receipt of my complaint, the company was quick to apologize and sent out four or five pens to me to replace the defective pens that I had to throw out. Because I rarely take the step of complaining about a product, I was pleasantly surprised to receive anything in return. That response served to cement my appreciation of the company and of this pen specifically.

The pens are amazing, i love them and couldn’t find them in any local shop . But they are so much expensive. I had to pay 30 dirham more . I used to buy them for like 55 dirham for the box. But what i can say i had to pay those extra dirham. The quality is great and ink is fluid.

These pens write like a dream, no pooling of ink or smudging. They are very fine allowing for very neat flow.

Despite the lengthy delivery time (from America) it was worth the wait to receive these excellent Pilot pens which I first discovered about 8 years ago when they were issued to us at a large firm of accountants. I was very miffed when they withdrew them as part of an economy drive, so I sourced and purchased my own, and have been using them ever since. Sadly it seems that UK stockists don't appear to carry them any longer. They write beautifully smoothly, with the most delicately fine line, making it possible to keep the tiniest of notes or diary entries etc. Highly Recommended!
