If you get a flexible bit, get this tool!
I bought this for a project as well as a flexible bit, but I didn't end up using them. I was trying to drill through the top plate in an existing wall which already had insulation. The bit ended up getting caught in the insulation, so I didn't use that bit. That being said, the placement tool worked very well. When I first used the flexible bit without the tool, I could feel the end of the bit hitting the exterior wall. If I would have drilled it would have gone through the wall through the siding. I confirmed this by pushing an endoscope up the wall with the bit. I was also trying to use one of those bumper balls while doing this, but it was still hitting the exterior wall. I then grabbed this tool and used it to flex the bit towards the interior. It took a little force, but it worked great! I could move the bit so it was vertical and centered on the top plate! I confirmed this with the camera again. Unfortunately, like I said, the insulation made it so I couldn't use the bit. I have some other project ideas which I could use this bit, though, so it could still be useful in the future. So if you get a flexible bit, definitely get this tool!

Worked as advertised!
This is a great, indispensable companion tool for the Klein 72" long Drill.

Straight him but needs velvet gloves
I used this to help drill under the170 inch long drive way. To make very long shaft of auger straight and bend it down for horizontal drilling required this device. It needs to be opened fully for the use. The picture you see is the stow away folded position. It helped me to drill but it scratched the auger shaft. The engagement point should be rounded more to allow smoother rotation of the auger without gouging the surface of the shaft. Other than that this is a very useful device.

Item works great
Item does its job at allowing you to be able to better control the bend in your drill rod, while attempting to drill through a horizontal firewall stud. Always a risk not being able to see where you drilling inside the wall, but not many options in this regard for secondary installers. But careful wire dectection before drilling is the best solution, measure twice, cut once.

Takes too much space to work.
I only use this for installing can lights. Not really good for anything else and it's not really good for cans either. Not enough room in 6 inch hole for this to work.

Ig you have a flex drill bit - you need this!
A must have when using a flexible drill bit to steady the bit as it flexes!

Necessity for maneuvering flex bits
Drilled through my ceiling bracers along the outside wall of my attic. Wouldn’t have been able to get the flex but in the orientation I needed it without this guy. Worked like a charm

Excellent and high quality.
This is a high quality placement tool. Some of the others are a little flimsy and I would recommend this one over them. It takes a little practice to get good results with this but does work very well.

Haven't used yet, but seems quality
I haven't actually used this for the intended purpose yet, but taking it out of the package it seems solidly built. In the past I drilled the holes just by flexing the bit by hand, so I don't technically need this tool, but I am hoping it will make future work less stressful. My one concern is that because of the folding design, there is a metal on metal catch that should hold it unfolded, but it doesn't really seem like it could withstand much pressure while using the tool. I will try to remember to come back an update my review after I use this for the upcoming project to install new data ports in the spare bedroom.
