Good value and long life.
I've used this machine model 9960 since 2016. Actually bought 2. It comes with extension table. I broke feed dogs during early use, don't know what caused it. Straight stitch factory setting are too short so I adjust stitch length to longest setting everytime I sew. So I can't baste stitch on that setting, not long enough. Upper tension needs to be adjusted on the screen (XX) when using other than straight stitch and do test on scrap material just like you will sew. If you sew only a couple thickness of cotton on zig zag, it puckers because material is to thin, need to adjust tension. I had problems with jamming because I didn't have needle completely up position when threading and a used needle and may have been bent that I didn't notice. Once I rethreaded and put new needle in it ran fine. I love the speed control on the machine so I don't have to use foot pedal. Decorative stithes I can only make longer not wider. To get a far right straight stitch, just select the center option then go on screen and adjust "width" position as far to right as you want. You can also adjust left position more towards center if you like doing the width setting. The bobbin winding I've had trouble with as thread doesn't want to stay in the last threading part, thread needs to be held behind it when starting to keep tension to start. My only complaint is spool thread has to be put in so thread is under and when sewing, the thread hooks on the spool slit that holds thread when first bought. I end up cutting the spool to get rid of that slit in it. This isn't Singers fault that thread manufacturers do it this way. If it would have been on other end it wouldn't caught. Make sure you clean and oil machine regularly for smooth operation. I need to get a syringe with needle to reach parts in upper side case. My Singer oil bottle can't get into it far enough. I used an eye dropper but I don't have the precise control with it. I'm going to see if I can use twin needles as I do have the plate with a wide enough opening for them, it's just the upper thread I may have to use the bobbin winder holder for that then hand try 1st to see if it works. I read that hand thread each needle and have left needle thread behind that the loop and right needle thread in front of it. Loop is where needle inserts in machine. Have to watch positions of needle when sewing something than straight stitch center position so the don't hit presser foot and plate. Presser feet are easy to change execpt a couple that you need to remove the holder to screw on that special foot that had the shank built in it. Mine came with the basic feet plus a bag of a few other feet. The description says 600 stitches but I don't think that is how many unless they mean those that can be adjusted to different lengths and letters? I will have to check into that but there are plenty to choose from. I haven't tried embroidering with it. I would recommend if you do more than just basic sewing. Being digital may be a little too complicated for some people to understand and they should get one with knobs to adjust things. Has a good carrier case and you can take part of base off to use it for sleeves, pant legs or anything round. That I really love.

Wonderful machine!
I trust the singer name and this machine has excellent reviews for good reason. I've been using it about a month now and I love all the features. It comes with a large extension table as well as the ability to remove the smaller work table so that you can sew things such as sleeves. The included extra feet, including a walking foot, are also wonderful additions. The number of stitches including multiple options for buttonholes and for the machine to sew on buttons , are excellent. I think my favorite feature is the machines ability to cut both sides of the thread when you are done with a seam. My only complaint is that the insertion part of the power cord is stiff and long. It easily added more than 2 inches to the width of the machine. This extra width prevented the machine from being able to sit fully down into the cavity in my sewing table. I contacted the manufacturer to see if they have a 90ยฐ angle cord , but they do not. I ended up using the power cord from my old machine , which was not as bulky. I do not think the length of this part of the cord is included in the width measurement of the machine, so take that into consideration if you have a cavity type sewing table. Otherwise, an excellent machine.

Worth the money!
As a relatively beginner sewer, Iโve loved using this sewing machine! It comes with so many stitch options and is pretty easy to figure out with the manual. It has a manual lever for a needle threader (which takes a couple tries to figure out how to work, but just keep trying) and both a manual AND automatic thread cutter, which is a non-negotiable for me!! Super handy. The motor is quiet and the machine runs very smoothly. I researched quite a few machines and have been so happy with my decision!

Working flawlessly since 2019 ...
I LOVE this machine so much! I bought it in 2019, and it has been working beautifully, with zero issues, ever since. Threading is easy, and I love all the features. I have not used the knee-pedal function, so I can't speak to that. I have used a lot of the decorative stitches, and I love how easy it is to switch between stitches, changing length, width, etc. I also love how well it handles thick layers of fabrics. Last year I discovered and fell in love with rag quilts. I made a quilt that is three layers of flannel, so in some scenarios, I was sewing seams that were eight layers of flannel with all the folding, and with the aid of a walking foot, it handled that with a breeze - not a single skipped stitch. I've never, ever had any issues with skipped stitches, broken needles, broken threads, or stitches bunching up. I also find it quieter than previous machines. I do have it on a pad, so that probably helps some. I also appreciate that there are numerous excellent and easy-to-follow YouTube tutorials that I have referred to over and over again to refresh myself on how to do something or figure out the best foot to use for a project, or even figure out what some of the mystery feet and other accessories are for. I also learned a valuable tip about the two different places for thread, depending on what type of spool it is (e.g., vertical spool for traditional spools and horizontal spool for threads that have that zig-zaggy threaded look, like serger cones). My only wish for this machine is that it had a bigger throat plate. Now that I've fallen in love with rag quilts, I've had scenarios where the (standard) smaller throat plate is an obstacle. For that reason, I bought another machine with a bigger throat plate, designed for quilters, and I'll be passing the Quantum Stylist machine on to another family member, who is thrilled. I am confident it will give them many years of joy as they fall in love with it too. This machine is a true workhorse, and I recommend it for any sewing enthusiasts (unless you are a quilter and need a bigger throat space)!

Great Machine, leave foam inside cover!
Replaced my aging Singer with this model after the โin placeโ bobbin winder became unpredictable after over 40 years and am very pleased. The new machine is very easy to thread, as was my old Singer, and the needle threader and cutter are awesome. The stitches were perfect on the first test. The common stitches have button shortcuts that make it easy to use. There are tons of features that I may never use but have the capability, if desired. I donโt anticipate outgrowing this machine. It arrived quickly in perfect condition along with added accessories and a dust cover. My reason for a 4 instead of a 5 is that the entire machine appears to be plastic and there are no โunboxingโ instructions that warn NOT to remove the styrofoam inside the dust cover. There was so much styrofoam packing, which I appreciated protecting the machine for shipment, BUT the foam inside the cover โlooksโ like packing material but it isnโt. The foam on each side is loose and comes out easily until it breaks where the center is glued in. I had reviewed the manual before pulling off all the blocks, tape, etc. off the machine but saw NO instructions. After pulling out the foam from the cover, I quickly realized my mistake and saw the tiny, one-liner in the manual that it is intended to stay in. I glued the pieces back and it works but am disappointed that a $500 machine didnโt have a one-page insert on how to unpack it properly and now I have a โdamagedโ lid. I also donโt like the storage door which doesnโt stay closed or really fit the manual. The manual alternates languages for each section rather than complete the section for each language individually which would make it much easier to read and use.

Worth it to me
I love this sewing machine, I have 5 sewing machines, and oneโs a Juki 2010q but this one has so many stitching options. You can spell things. Speed control is nice, itโs not hard to learn all you have to do is read the directions if youโre confused. And Iโm not new to sewing but Iโm sure you would be able to use this as beginner it just might take a little bit due to being digital in my opinion. It is heavy but not heavy to the extreme. Tension is no problem. And having a case cover and extension board without having to buy them for once is so nice. Idk I love this machine. Again I enjoy singer, I just got into having a brother and I thought that was confusing compared to Bernina, Juki and singer to be honest. Singer just makes it more simpler and easy to use.

I'm in love
I learned to sew on a Singer Touch and Sew machine that my mother purchased from a door to door salesman. Times have really changed. You buy on the internet, and watch a YouTube video for demonstrations of all the features before you buy, which is great because the videos are always there, unlike the traveling salesman. The one thing that hasn't changed is that Singer has always been synonymous with quality, and this machine did not disappoint. Using this it has been almost like playing and watching a magic show all at once. It has so many features it is ridiculous. I started looking for a drop in bobbin machine to mend clothes, but ended up with this machine because is a great value. There is not a single project this machine Singer failed prepare for in this machine. I am extremely pleased with the top loading bobbin because I learned to sew on the Singer Touch and Sew machine, which had that feature, but for some reason, manufacturers stopped including. While this is a great feature, I wish they would go back to how the Singer Touch and Sew machine loaded the bobbin without ever removing it from it's drop in location. You just pressed a button before pressing the foot pedal and it loaded hands free. I know it sounds lazy, but it was so easy and so cool. I had to relearn to thread a bobbin by removing it. I know it would take some re-engineering, but it would make Singer the only machine with that feature. I made two wedding dresses for my sister and me on the old Touch and Sew Machine, so my mother's $1000 investment in that machine really paid off., which proves that even an expensive sewing machine can pay for itself if you use it and don't just let it just sit and collect dust. Now, I've got must find some projects for this machine, which won't be hard because it comes with so many features, presser feet, and a great instruction manual. I've got a bad back, and only intended to use the machine to mend rips, but i can't let that be all this wonderful machine does. Using it will be like playing. I've been playing with it by learning the features and the stitches. The only feature that took a little getting used to was the needle treading. I was having trouble making it work, so I watched a Youtube video and noticed that I wasn't pressing the lever far enough down to get it to work. It pressed fairly easily to a point, but did not go far enough to thread the needle. I tried watching the video, and I was doing as it said, but it didn't say that you might have to press up and down a few times to get it loosed up. I pressed a little harder the first few times, and now, it works great. I don't mean that you should press it so hard you break. Just work with it, and it will loosen up. I figured it may have gotten a little stiff sitting around a warehouse. Anyway, now I'm a pro at using the automatic needle threader, and it is as easy as described.

Nope!
35 days and it broke. I am a quilter for many years. I finally pulled the trigger on this machine, which was over $500! ( I know) I loved it, and it had many features that my old one didnt. I had it for 35 days and it started beeping constantly when turned on and nothing, not one buttob on it works. I tried all the tips that i learned from youtube ti fix it, but its the whole mother board. Amazon 30 day return was 5 days gone, so was ubder "Singer warranty" They are no help and directed to a warranty repair shop. The close st being 60 miles and then that place said they didnt do warranty repair Singer customer service wont respond to c all or emails. Im out over $500 for this machine. I dont think it was brand new when delivered. Singer customer service is BAD! This machine is worthless and would cost me more than machine worth to repair it. My advise is go to Walmart and get a cheap one, so you wont be so sick over the money lost. Lesson learned. Unless your rich or something. Singer is cheaply made and expensive. Amazon customer support was great and so helpful, but I was 5 days over the 30 day return and couldnt help me. After buying a cheap Brother from Walmart, I realized the Singer I bought from Amazon was used ir had been rebuilt. It failed beyond the cost and trouble Ive gone through with no answers. I lost over $500! BUY THE CHEAP ONE! So you can just buy new one if it breaks. So sick over this whole thing, but I should of known better. Amazon Customer Service was as helpful as much as she could. Gave me Singer phone #. Singer is the bad guy in this story!
