More Than Just For Pull-ups
This product has a lot of great uses and is useful for even those who can do unassisted or even weighted pull-ups. Here's what I really liked about it: 1) It actually works. 2) It's easy to customize the degree of difficulty by either changing the length of the strap or removing a band. 3) It allows you to focus on form and getting a full range of motion. (Don't be one of those many people in the gym going only half-way down!) 4) It can be used for other exercises other than pull-ups. Really cool ones for working the core, glutes, and hamstrings. (You got to watch the DVD) 5) The DVD was actually pretty cool and informative. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the "strap band connector mechanism thing" rubs on the stomach (assuming you keep your feet right under your torso and not out, as a real unassisted pull-up should be). Not a major issue, and one that can be countered via padding, a thicker shirt, etc. All in all, great product. Recommended to anyone looking to work on, or add a variation to their pull-up routines. I wouldn't make this a primary workout, as recommended in the DVD, but it is a wonderful addition to spice things up a bit.

High quality, versatile, and really helps me get more work in on pullup days
This item performs perfectly. It is of high quality and comes with additional attachments to make the device even more versatile. I am a normal size guy at 5-10 and 157 lbs. I can knock out a dozen or so good pullups per set, and have found that I have plateaued there for some time. After using this device, I can put additional work in and I already see my numbers going up. This device attaches very easily to a doorframe (P90X-style) pullup bar, and quickly adjusts to the right height and tension. I also like that I can easily decrease the level of assistance by quickly detaching one or two of the bands, depending on the workout. There is no discomfort at all arising from the rubbing of the device on the legs or any other such thing, as I have read about on other models with perhaps cheaper construction. I get the most stable results when I cross the free leg over the other, and kick the feet out very slightly. Pretty stable setup.

Good product but maybe not for beginners
Even though they are the hardest exercise to master (as in execute correctly), pullups are supposedly the best overall exercise in terms of toning your arms, shoulders, back, abs, etc. I've been incorporating pull-ups in my exercise routine for the past 6 months. At first, I found pullups (with no assistance) to be almost impossible. I mean I had muscles but the muscles that were required to actually pull myself up seemed to be woefully weak. Back then I didn't know that pullup assists were available. So, I kept working at it until I was able to do 3 consecutive pullups at a time. I couldn't go beyond 3 in a row. After seeing these on an exercise video, I found this unit from Lifeline USA and decided to get it a try. It was really easy to put together (you don't even need to look at directions) and it was easy to adjust the length you want it. Shorter for taller people and longer for shorter people. When I did my first pullup using this unit I could definitely feel that it helped me. In fact, I was able to do about 8 consecutive pullups before I couldn't continue anymore. What I discovered was that it kind of gave you a little boost up until your arms get to be about 45 degrees to the bar at which time you can start really using your biceps, shoulder, biceps, ab muscles to take your chin up beyond the bar. It sort of "bounces" you up to a point in which you can take over and pull yourself up. Of course, it doesn't provide as much assistance as a stationary chair but you can really feel it helping. The one thing I had a problem with was that I don't think this would have made a difference for me if I couldn't even do 1 single pullup. I would end up just stepping into the holster and then my body weight would stretch the elastic lines and then I would just hang there unable to pull myself up. I think you really have to be able to do a few pullups by yourself first before you can get the full potential out of this unit. It allows you to do more consecutive FULL pullups before getting so tired you can't go on. Gradually, I'm hoping to wean myself off this unit after I build more muscle through repetitive use. So, bottom line is that if you're a beginner pullup person, this probably won't work so well for you. Don't expect to be able to do pullups like those people on TV late at night. If you can do a few full pullups (without assistance) then this unit will help you take it to the next level. On a side note, it would be good if they could have included different resistance elastic bands (light, medium and heavy-duty) to accommodate for people of varying body weights. Obviously, a lighter person would get a bigger boost than a heavier person when using this unit.

Best bang for buck. I've tripled my reps in 2 months. More time engaging the muscles=growth&gains
At the position it came out of the box, it reduced my bodyweight by 60lb with the strap touching the floor on my scale to verify. A must have for those who want to spend more time doing the reps to work yourself up. I got up to around 15 reps for pull-ups then removed the center strap. I wound up matching the same number of reps after my usual week of rest after exercising. I have kept it at 2 straps but plan to add a weighted vest to increase the intensity. I haven't adjusted the strap but can confirm moving it up will give you a lot more assistance since I tested it on different height door frames with my pull up bar, the higher door frame gave more assistance than the lower. My only complaint is that you can't go below 2 straps to continue increasing the intensity but the simple fix is adjusting the strap height; for this I highly recommend using a scale and someone to assist lining up the scale, it is a little bit of a balance act lol, if you are making sure to keep track of your numbers, especially how much assistance it's giving you at the start point as I'm not sure if they all come factory at the same length setting out of the box.

OMG...I can't stop doing pull-ups!!!
I love this thing! I just got it today, set it up, and now every time I walk by my pull-up bar, I find myself getting on it and banging out ten pull-ups. In all fairness, I like having a free-standing pull-up bar, and oftentimes I walk by it and and bang out a couple...like 2 or 3.) I was surprised to see that a little assembly was required. The surgical tubing had to be inserted into the slots (no big deal). It comes packed with a warning slip telling you to not attach the setup in such a way that the plastic buckle makes contact with the attachment point, but then it goes on to say "always read and follow all the instructions that come with your Pullup Revolution." Since that slip of paper was the only "instructions" that came with my Revolution, I'd say setup was pretty simple. It comes with a DVD; maybe I should watch it. One of the previous reviewers cautioned would-be buyers about fairly assessing their strength before buying. I agree--the Pullup Revolution will probably not help you if you are significantly overweight and are unable to do one pull-up. However, if the difference between your weight and the amount of weight that the assist offers is not staggering and you can do at least one pull-up, I would imagine that the Pullup Revolution will help you. To give you an idea, I'm around 170 lbs and can do about 10 pull-ups un-assisted. With the Pullup Revolution set to about half the strap length, I feel like I can easily do 20-30 pull-ups. The Pullup Revolution is only an assist--you still have to do most of the work! That's the long way of saying that this product probably offers enough resistance for most people to get benefit out of it. I can see myself getting to a point where I'll need to remove one of the tubes to reduce the assist, but I'll save that for advanced training. This is a fantastic product, and if you're doing any of those home products like P90X (like I am), then I dare say you NEED this product. Okay, I'm off to do more pull-ups! :-)

Great product
I was debating if I should pay $27 for this unit of more on the different color band. I'm glad I bought this one and I'm able to do 15 - 20 reps vs 7 - 10 reps on pull ups. The belt is a plus for doing plyo push ups, it reduces the impact on your shoulders when you land. You can adjust the line to go up higher for more support and lower it for less. As you improve, take out one of the band to test your strength on pull ups and push ups. If you have a pull up bar, this works really when you are working out at home. Don't expect the band to do the pull ups for you if you are more than 200 lbs. You must have upper body strength, core muscles and able to do at least 2 pull ups without the band. Otherwise, you expect too much from this band. If that is the case, then use the heavy duty resistance band to achieve your pull ups.

A training must-have!
If you're doing pull-ups (or trying to) as part of your workout, this is an essential tool. You can adjust the amount of assist you need by either adding or subtracting bands and by adjusting thie placement of foot rest. It is awesome for those just learning how to do pull-ups and chins and allows for gradual reduction of assist as you get stronger. Also fantastic for eking out those last extra reps when you're spent at the end of a workout. This product is well-made and well-thought out. Easy to adjust, easy to use. It's a definite game-changer!

ATTN: FOR THOSE OF YOU WITH DOOR FRAME MOUNTED BARS
Let me first start out by saying that I cannot recommend this item enough. For many years I've chosen to do traditional free-weight routines over functional body-weight exercises. I still lift weights, but now with a greater understanding of the benefits of implementing body-weight exercises and calisthenics such as push-ups, dips, jump-squats, jumping-jacks, and of course, pull-ups/chin-ups (I'll use these terms interchangeably throughout this review). I decided to stick with a mostly body-weight routine for the last three weeks (as of this writing), and my body composition has changed more dramatically than when I just stuck to a weight-lifting routine (this is not a knock on using weights because they will always have its benefits). The most difficult thing to do was pull-ups. It's probably the single most difficult upper-body-weight exercise to do if you're a beginner. It's easy to get discouraged, even if you do assisted-pull-ups with a chair, negatives, etc., because sometimes you feel cheated out of doing the correct movement (for me, anyway). This is where this ingenious device comes in. I've never tried the other type of assistance-bands on the market, but the Pullup Revolution's design caught my eye, not to mention the mostly positive reviews. I was hesitant at first, just because of the price ($36.00), but I'm glad I purchased it. It does what it says, giving you the right amount of assistance where you need it for how many repetitions you choose. Now let me get to the point of my review title: If you're short like me (5'8"), it is possible to use this with a doorway-mounted chin up bar, but the handle is set probably a good foot-or-so lower than if you have the newer portable chin-up bars, and my feet do touch the floor. I compensate by leaning back JUST ENOUGH to clear the floor when I'm at the bottom of the position so I can get a good stretch in my upper-back/lats, and concentrate on not using elastic energy and momentum to complete the pull-up. I tried tucking my legs up in front of me, but the tendency for me was to involuntarily start pushing with my feet as I'm starting to pull myself up (NOT a good idea). I also recommend switching which foot you put in the loop on consecutive sets, just because of the very slight chance of developing muscle-imbalance. Awesome. Lifeline USA puts out great products, glad I found it on Amazon.
