If you're a patient person who doesn't mind, confusing, complicated, & difficult transactions, these are the giftcards for you!
Be prepared that very few people at Hyatt know how these giftcards work. I've tried to use several giftcards at several locations on several different occasions, and each time, every Hyatt employee I've encountered (over the phone or in person) have to put me on hold and call corporate to figure out how to redeem them. I'm literally sitting on hold right now trying to book an advanced reservation with one now and they can't seem to figure out how to apply a $100 gift card to a $500 reservation. (15 minutes and counting). This is the third time I've tried to use it. The answer I just received is "you can't use a gift card on an advanced booking rate"----different answers with different hotels. When I call the same hotel later tonight, I will get a different answer. At a different hotel 2 months ago, they nearly lost their minds because first they said you couldn't use them in international hotels (wrong) and then they said you can only use one gift card per stay (also wrong---after calling corporate for 1 hour, they took them all). Long story short: you will experience resistance, confusion, and stress every time you try to use one---especially if you try to use more than one. One thing to keep in mind: The FULL balance of your giftcard has to be used---ie: if you have a $200 balance and your booking is only $100, you will not be able to use the giftcard. Your giftcard will pay for anything on your folio, however (ie: spa treatments, meals, room service, etc). Hope this helps.

Card has a ZERO Balance
I received over thirty $100 gift cards as presents from my Amazon wishlist. I read reviews that some of the Hyatt gift cards had been compromised and people were saying that they had a zero balance when they received them. I called to check the balance on my cards and 4 out for the 30+ have been used. Three of the gift cards had a zero balance and one has a balance of $5.65. I have tried to contact Hyatt about this and they tell me to contact Amazon. I tried to contact Amazon about this and they tell me to contact Hyatt. I told them what Hyatt said and they informed me that they could do nothing. I contacted Hyatt again and they will not talk to me since I did not buy the card, even though it was delivered directly to me. No one will help me and I'm now losing out on almost $400. Don't buy these as gifts for people they may have a zero balance.

I made sure the gift cards had the correct amount ...
I made sure the gift cards had the correct amount on them and the hotel still had trouble using a couple of them. They were able to use most of them so they knew what they were doing but couldn't use a couple even though I called customer service and made sure they had money on them. I will try and use them again at a different location and have the hotel call customer service if they have trouble.

Five Stars
Easy to use if you don't mind waiting until checkout to do so. Very straightforward though, no hassles!

Very nice gift
It was a nice gift the only thing is that they still need your credit or debit card and they put the money on hold and you have to use the gift card when you checkout, but it worked out fine .
