The plastic piercing is as long as my metal piercing back to the back is wider. That will take a little bit of time to get used to oh, but I am happy overall. I got this to put in my helix during my softball games. I got the 8mm which fit my ear perfectly, not to tight, not to big. And there was exactly 30 earings in it. The only downside was that there was peices of extra plastic on the flat part of the earing but it was easily clipped off. Over all I was satisfied with my purchase.
