Very durable product that will last! MADE IN USA!
I bought this device for home use. I'm the only one using it so I bought the men's only without the women's measurement so I wouldn't get confused. The other device by brannock has both women and men simultaneously. The women's measurement is in pink and the men's are in black. I always have problems when it comes to buying shoes. My shoe size according to this Brannock device is 7 1/2 3E arch length 7. When I buy shoes I usually take a size 9 wide. Different shoe brands fit differently even if they say 9 wide. I bought a pair of Oakley 6 inch SI Assault Boots in black 9 wide. The box said 9 wide but not on the shoe. I think it's a regular. I had to buy a shoe stretcher on amazon to break it in. They fit better now. I came across a pair of Oakley SI 8 inch desert tan boots at my local goodwill in 10 wide. They fit perfectly! They are the most comfortable boots I own. I also have a pair of wellco 8 inch desert tan boots in 8 1/2 wide and they fit great too! I heard that wellco makes their boots a size bigger so they are probably a size 9 1/2. Sports Authority just closed down and this is where I used to buy most of my shoes from tennis shoes to hiking boots and I would measure my feet there with their device along with 10,000 other people putting their smelly feet on it. I always forget my exact foot measurements so that's why I bought this device and 10,000 other people didnt touch it. It is pretty pricey but as long as you don't abuse it it will last. Most people from hawaii have very wide feet. I guess because we wear slippers everyday and shoes to work and hike only. When I watch tv I always see everyone wearing shoes in the house and on their bed. I wonder if that's real. So if you step in poop you track it all over your house and bed? Tennis shoes are hard to find in wide. I think it's because you need traction when chasing down balls and sliding left to right etc. I had a very comfortable pair of Wilson tennis shoes in size 10. They broke and started talking to me. (Front flap glue came loose). I just bought a shoe awl from amazon so I'm going to try and repair that shoe. So I'm a exact size 7 1/2 and I take a size 10 tennis shoe. I got a pair of size 10 prince tennis shoes and these fit but they are very narrow and my feet start hurting after a while. I only saw New Balance tennis shoes that are made in wide but they cost around $100. So this device is good if you own a store or just want one for the family to keep at home and 10,000 people didn't touched it. I recommend the unisex device for family use. When I bought my men's device the unisex one costed a little more. There is more print on the unisex so reading it might take a little longer. I know I don't need to buy this device and could of just use a stores one or measure my own feet with tape measure but I wanted to keep it real. And plus I forget my foot size and have to measure again. Just don't use it to chalk your car tires, play fetch with rover, use it as a hammer then it will last forever. Although if you did do all of that I bet it would do the job for that and then some due to its heavy duty build quality. You could use it as a paperweight, door stop, grappling hook, club out people, give spankings to naughty ones or lover or instruders, play tennis, support beam, fishing weight, play ninja, break window to escape, hold up your shelf, decoration, or just measure your feet and your guests feet too. It's a very good quality product MADE IN THE USA.

It doesn't seem as sturdy as I thought it would be
If you spend the five minutes to learn to properly read the device, this works perfectly. We used it to size some 60 students for a high school marching band when we began a changeover from one shoe brand to another, and this made the process so much easier than dealing with disposable socks and a test kit of shoes. It doesn't seem as sturdy as I thought it would be, but with care, it should hold up for years.

Solid measuring device
The device works fine. I would prefer if the metal were more solid. Otherwise, it works fine for myself. I would only recommend it for people wanting to get it for themselves or for their own family. The device arrived in excellent time.

The exact same model as in the stores!
It is funny that some folks are claiming that this Brannock device is not accurate. It is the exact same device used in shoe stores to measure shoe sizes and width! Read the directions to use it properly and you won't be disappointed. After determining the proper size, shoe fit for comfort is a personal preference. Some like shoes to fit a little snug, and some folks like fit to be loose. That is not the fault of the measuring device. After purchasing a pair of sneakers in my usual size, then finding that they didn't fit (I didn't try them on first. My fault), I bought the Bannock and found that my foot length had increased by a full size, and the arch measurement said I should go up another half size from that. I bought the recommended size, trying them on for fit, and voila!, they fit perfectly in the store and after. I'm glad I broke down and got this.

This is still a good old fashion measuring shoe device
I like the sturdiness and it's easy to use. But the accuracy is not right for me anyway. My foot is much wider then what the device says. But I'm still glad I ordered it, but I still have to go by my knowledge of my width size and not count on this device for my sizing, for some one else it might be right

like I used too
I was having foot pain for a long time. I went to see a foot doctor and all they wanted to do is sell me a pair of 400.00 orthotics, I got a pair, but didn't give me much relief. Come to find out that as you age your feet can grow; my feet grew from a size 12 to a 14 and a half. That is where my pain was coming from. I couldn't find a brannock in any shoe store around me so I bought one......thank God I did, I don't have so much pain in my feet any more. I can actually work my 8 hour shift without having to use a cane/or something to leave; like I used too.
