I like using tooth powder instead of paste because it usually comes on a recyclable container. This seemed interesting, however the first one I got I sent back immediately - there was no safety seal and the cap was scratched, smudged and cracked.Received the second one promptly and in similar condition, no safety seal and the cap didn't look new, it was smudged and scratched. So I guess this is how it's sold?? I used this a few times for the sake of the review but threw the rest in my compost. No safety seal and used looking caps, no thank you.So I tried this three times -I opened the container and even with the secondary lid, the fine charcoal was all over my hands. Tried opening it carefully in the sink (pic 1)The flavor is great. The gritty feeling not great. My partner said their teeth felt more sensitive after brushing and felt this was too abrasive.My teeth looked a bit gray after brushing as usual. It took flossing and using mouthwash to get the discoloration and grit out of my mouth.And the charcoal sticks to everything - hands, sink. Had to clean my sink after using each time. Clearly not the tooth powder for me.

Not surprisingly, charcoal is black. Care must be taken since the fine black powder can easily make a mess. I bought this to show my two grandsons, ages 7 and 9, alternatives to toothpaste. They thought it was cool that it turns your teeth black (temporarily) and liked it better than the homemade toothpaste we made.

A mess to use, must rinse many times.

This toothpaste has not made an obvious change yet, but we have only just started using it. We will keep using a couple times a week to see how well it works. Did not stain our sink like other charcoal toothpaste has been known to. I liked the flavor and will keep using. Thanks.

I like this charcoal powder.I do have two caveats: I've heard mixed reviews about the benefits/risks of using charcoal powder on teeth. So, proceed with caution and don't blindly believe the claims that this product is great for oral health. Secondly, I have not abandoned my regular toothpaste. I have been using this in addition to toothpaste, maybe 1-2 times a day for a week or two.I'm not sure, but I do think I've seen results. After brushing with the powder, I feel like my smile is a little whiter. I don't mind the taste (I don't really notice one) or texture (very fine powder), so this product is really easy to use. The only annoying part is that the charcoal can get stuck in the sink, and I don't want it to stain. You'll probably wanna wipe down your sink after each use.If you're in the market for a charcoal-based tooth whitener, I would recommend giving this a try.

This is one of the best tooth powders I've used. It does a great job getting my teeth clean & I have noticed a huge difference in the amount of junk that builds up on my teeth. I will remove the build up myself in between my regular dental check ups (which go rather well & I'm in my mid 40's). With the majority of other natural toothpastes I usually find myself needing to do a home cleaning once or twice a week. With this tooth powder it's not even once a week - pretty impressive.I'm not a fan of super foamy toothpastes (my husband loves the foam) or overly flavored toothpastes (unless it's cinnamon). This tooth powder has virtually no taste which was weird & surprising at first. The lack of foam was simply a wonderful plus. I expected a minty taste thanks to the spearmint, but really, it's rather bland. It doesn't irritate my mouth or lips, it just gets my teeth clean & makes my sink a mess.The ingredients are simple:Activated coconut charcoal, bentonite clay, spearmint oil, stevia, sweet orange oil, coconut oil, sodium bicarbonate.There are two things I don't like about this tooth powder. One, is it is packaged in plastic. Two, it is messy. Regarding the mess, it's to be expected with charcoal tooth powder. My solution is to brush my teeth at my kitchen sink because my sink is black. LOL! Otherwise my white bathroom sink is a nasty mess that requires daily cleaning to be presentable.Overall, I am more than pleased.

We've been using charcoal toothpaste for years, and decided to try this.This is a polish, so it's not for everyday use. The instructions say use for 30 days (I suppose once a year?). Personally, I use polish either once a week, or for a few days each month. If you use polish too frequently, it will take the enamel off your teeth.For polish days, I sometimes also use the professional strength tooth polish (coarse grit). I just load up my toothbrush with normal toothpaste, then sprinkle the charcoal polish on top. I'll do my bottom teeth for 3-5 minutes, rinse, then repeat the process for the top teeth.This is pretty fine powder (more fine than other polishes I've used). If you're not used to charcoal, it's dark and you have to wipe down the sink after because of all the little black splatter everywhere (which you should be doing anyway, the splatter is there after you brush your teeth whether you see it or not). The flavor is nice & refreshing. I also like that it has clay powder in addition to the charcoal.
