Casio Men's AW2000WD Digital Wristwatch
1. Delivery of my order: 5-star all the way. It came very quickly, arrived in perfect condition. 2. The product: I had previously replaced my aged, but still functional Casio digital with a Casio analog watch--slave to fashion? Problem was that it was difficult to see where the hands were, much less to see the date (no day). Since it was inexpensive to begin with, I decided to go back to digital. The AE2000WD does a lot of things. This means that you HAVE to read the instructions in order to set it up properly. If you do that, the watch will do just about anything you want. Okay, it doesn't make a cup of good coffee, but who wants to pay for a watch that can do that? Seriously, it's a great timepiece. It comes from the factory with a band that would probably fit the Jolly Green Giant properly, but for a very modest sum a jeweler removed 3 or 4 links and it now fits like a charm. I like the stainless band. Unlike other Casio watches I have owned that came with plastic bands that ultimately broke because like other normal humans I sweat on my wrists, this band is going to last forever. I also like the idea of a 10-year battery...original equipment on this watch. (We'll see if it lasts ten years or not.) The digits on the face of the watch are easy to read, even if you aren't wearing your glasses, though the day of the week and the date appear in smaller, thinner letters and figures. I'm looking forward to learning to use the other features of the watch--daylight savings time, etc.--in addition to the capabilities that I already know and use--stopwatch, countdown timer, etc. Oh yes, it is a little larger than watches I have owned before, but looks good even on a normal-sized wrist. I haven't mentioned price yet. This is not a cheap watch, nor is it expensive. Amazon sells it at a price that many people will find rational. In terms of what you get for what you pay, it's a bargain. In closing, yes, I'd buy this again knowing what I know now, and yes, I'd recommend it to friends.

An Excellent Watch for Work
Currently I'm working retail with an odd schedule, which means it would be impossible for me to keep track of all my scheduling needs. I also have a very bad habit of losing track of time. The five alarm feature on this watch is excellent for that, as well as the timer which I use to time my breaks. Everything can be clearly read on the watch face which is a problem for me as I need to wear corrective lenses. The light seems a little dim in daylight, but it works well enough at night. My only complaint about it is the light is on a timer so even if you hold the button it won't stay on and goes out after a second you have to press it again. Although, that isn't a serious concern. The metal band is excellent and very sturdy it clasps easily. There are a few issues with it though. First changing the size of the band is a pain, it takes a significant amount of effort to remove the link pins without bending the rest of the band. I had luck with a thumbtack and some padded pliers. Second, if you have a lot of arm hair on your wrist you won't after wearing this watch for about a week. That's the price you pay for a metal band. Something that might be a bother also is that this watch is large and fairly heavy. It is not a problem for me as I know that's the price you pay for a sturdy watch. It matches the description and the pictures on the product page in size, so if that is too big for you I would recommend steering clear. Speaking of sturdiness the water resistance seems to work well. I haven't gone diving with it or anything, but I work with fish tanks, and this watch gets wet all the time, but it doesn't leak or anything like that. I could see the world time feature being useful for someone who travels a lot.Overall for the price this watch is a really great purchase. I would say spend more if you have it and buy a better model, but if you don't want to empty your wallet this is a great timekeeper for the sportsman, everyday worker, and the frequent traveler.

Adequate watch
I've owned this watch for about 2 months and wear it daily. Overall it's useful, but larger than I expected given the size of my previous Casio watch. It's hard to get used to the size and weight. The finish on the band seems to be much easier to damage than my older stainless steel band. Pros: 1) Easy to read time and date especially when I'm running. 2) Multiple timezones can be very useful when traveling. 3) Timer, stopwatch, and alarm features are helpful. 4) The face seems to be reasonably well protected because it's recessed and has not been scratched yet. Cons: 1) The band is for people with very large wrists, so I had to remove 3 links. Removing the links is incredibly difficult even if you know how to do it. I used an iron nail and leather gloves with lots of force and did not scratch the finish on the band. I didn't have anything else available that could take the necessary force without bending, breaking, or damaging the band. I assume there is a special tool for this. 2) Band is attached via plastic to the watch body, which I suspect will be the first thing to break. The plastic flexes easily and the band cannot rotate on the pins, so it's designed to fail. 3) Band links are rigid rather than flexible like my previous band, so I have to lay the watch on its side. Inconvenient but tolerable unless you would like to carry it in your pocket for some reason. 3) The watch is about twice the size and mass of my previous waterproof Casio watch, possibly due to the G-shock feature. 4) The alarm sound is barely loud enough to wake me up, and usually doesn't unless I'm nearly awake already. 5) The top part of the display has three nearly invisible functions that might be usable if they had better contrast. It's possible to figure out what these are for if you look closely in good light (or read the manual), and then you thankfully realize you don't need those features.

Very happy with this well made, quality watch!
I own both this watch and the Casio AE2000W-1AV and both of them are excellent. This watch looks really nice and surprisingly has some weight to it - but not too much. Like the AE2000W-1AV, which is lighter weight but just as high quality, both fit well on my wrist. And speaking of wrist size, these watches are not oversized and fit nicely. The 3 graphic areas above the time are, in my opinion, a little gimmicky but serve useful purposes - if only they were a little easier to read. The first graphic to the left is a 10 second indicator - for every 10 seconds elapsed, a horizontal bar fills the area and does so until 60 seconds have elapsed, and then it starts over again from the bottom. (I guess kind of like a game of Tetris, but in reverse.) The middle graphic is a traditional looking analog clock face that shows you the current home time zone. Suppose this is handy if you're looking through various time zones and features on the watch and want a quick, at a glance reminder of the home city time. Finally, the last indicator on the right shows watch settings that are current active/inactive (i.e. hourly chime, alarm, and mute). The face is large and easy to read with clear font next to each function button also being easy to see. But you will have to read the manual to set it up. And as for set up, it's really not that complicated - but then again, I'm one of the few who enjoys reading the instructions. Incidentally, some reviewers may complain that the watch light doesn't stay on long enough. By default it's set to last 1.5 seconds but during setup you can change that to 3 seconds - and that's what I've done. The lighting is sufficient but could be better - would rather it light the whole face of the watch but for what you really need to see in the dark (time, day, date), that's good enough for me. Overall I find these both to be really nice time pieces. I've looked through so many watches and each time I kept coming back to these two. They're well made, nice looking, and seem that they could take a bit of a beating - not that I'd want to. I think the AE2000W-1AV (made of resin) is good for weekend wear while the AE2000WD-1AV in silver is better looking for work or casual going out events. Finally, a 10 year battery is a nice feature but from what I can see, doesn't look like it'd be all that difficult to replace it on my own.

Great deal at this price
Weak led light. Otherwise it is a perfect watch.

Almost The Perfect Watch
This is a hard item to rate. I really do like this watch. I have been buying the same Timex watch for over 30 years (about every 5-6 years). However, the Timex watches can no longer be used to go swimming. After spending $33.00 each for 3 of those watches over the last year or so, every one of them leak if you take them swimming in the lake (no diving), Those watches are supposed to withstand up to 99' of water. I have never had one of them leak. Usually the watch band would break or the lens would get scratched so bad until I would have to replace it. I will not waste my money on another Timex. Like I said, I really do like this Casio watch. Although the different time zones mean nothing to me, this is a very nice looking watch. The numbers are easy to read. I took the kids swimming many times this summer, and the watch has never leaked. Even the lens is protected from being scratch (inset). I found the perfect watch, but when the watch arrived, I took it to my local Walmart to have a flex band put on. They told me this watch took a very small and odd band that they did not sell. I knew from the reviews that this watch band was too big, but I thought that does not matter, I would just put a flex band on it. Well, now I had to take time off from work (cost more than the price of the watch) to go to a jewelry store. They said the same thing. This is a specialized band on this watch. The only thing they could do is take links out of the band to make it fit, and they did take 3 links out. The band does fit now, but it drives me nuts since there is no flex what so ever in this watch band. I did knock of 2 stars because this watch band can not be replace with something comfortable, and I had to miss work to have links taken out of this band (I work 6 days a week). If something happens to this watch band, you have to through this nice watch away.

Retro looks great.
It as a retro alternative watch for swimming and summer activities – lots of functions, relatively easy to program, but it helps if you’ve done it before on similar Casio watches.

Purchased July 2014
It has been over 11 years since I ordered this watch. It still uses the battery it came with. I have used it in the shower, snorkelling and swimming. I have used the world timer feature in several countries during travel. With a small collection of watches that are automatic, quartz, and solar, this is still my go to everyday watch because it is so trouble-free. When the battery finally goes, I'll just replace the battery because I've seen on videos how easy it is to do.
