Why leave door open?
These are great. They look like hinges, but always drive the door closed. I've used these in a number of areas in the house. Any door that would benefit from being closed (basement door, garage entry door...). Super easy to install and super easy to adjust spring tension.

It helps to remind you to close the door, but I don't think is designed to close it.

Questionable quality and performance
I have it all wind up and still downs close the door. One of the hinges come a part but I was able put is back together

There are pins that come in the plastic with the allen wrench. DO NOT THROW THEM OUT LIKE I DID!
Doors close great! Easy to install. As I said above. Don't throw the pins away.

Cheaply made and don't work as advertised
The springs wouldn't or couldn't hold the tension. More cheap merchandise from China.

Not a Penrod hinge as advertised.
What you get is not what the picture shows. I have Penrod hinges on other doors including a fire door that work great. I wanted more of the same just like the picture showed. But, got something quite different...
