I have been wanting to see the Tudor for quite some time now. It was worth the wait. Great acting, sets and costumes. Of course, the story is second to none.

Got my daughter this series for her 18th b’day.She’s very into royal history, and The Tudors is one of her favorite families, specifically King Henry IIIV and his six wives.This series is a great!

I viewed the entire series via Showtime and love it! Attention grabbing dialogue with period action and intrigue, The Tudors series was incredibly entertaining. Gloriously opulent costumes, intricate set design,, beautiful locations in the UK, and the acting of the entire cast is superb. Really...it's THAT good.When I noticed this complete season DVD collection for less than twenty-five dollars I knew it was the perfect gift for a family member who loves history and who was to have surgery and would be recuperating at home. As expected she too loves the series. There has been no complaints about DVDs not playing and the packaging was perfect (I had it sent to me prior to shipment to her).I would wholeheartedly recommend this DVD collection to to others. This is an excellent series, well-acted and provides close--though imperfect--adherence to some historical facts. My first attraction to the series lay in seeking to understand a turbulent era in English history creating the English Reformation. As a kid in Catholic school in '66, my class was taken to A MAN FOR LL SEASONS, about St Thomas More and his conflict with King Henry, his friend. More refused to recognize his "friend's marriage to Anne Boleyn and was executed. The TUDORS helped me understand the political background behind the religious conflict tat became the Reformation. The series demonstrated how Henry wanted to preserve his political supremacy even at the reluctant cost of his friend's death and Catholic-like adjustment which became Anglicanism.I often checked the historical facts against the story line was pleased to find that they were pretty closely in accord. For example, in the series, Cardinal Woolsey commits suicide which did not happen. Henry's sister was really named Mary, not Margaret. In the series she was married to the elderly King of Portugal but in reality, she was married to the elderly King of France. But a note of historical accuracy showed Mary/Margaret's disdain for Anne Boleyn.The actors are professional and great in their roles. They bring to life the political intrigue and the fears they all felt in seeking to maintain the love of Henry for them. Falling from favor would have been like having your water and light and Internet cut off indefinitely--if you were not executed. The writing is crisp and the performances are well done. For one trying to imagine why Henry VIII transformed himself from a Humanist to an autocrat and an opponent of the Papacy, one can better understand the background, politics, and personalities that LIKELY influenced his decision making.

Enjoyment of studying English Court riddled in scandals with king and women.

I have added this to my collection very good move excellent costumes for the time period, can be a bit over in the languages dept. lees is more in any movie

I saw this years ago when it was released and was amazed how good it was. Most of it is historically accurate although I'm still perplexed why they have Princess Mary marrying the King of Portugal when she actually married the King of France. And why does Henry VIII's court all have American accents? Other than a few nit-picky things this is an amazing production in every way. Fantastic acting, costumes, scenery. A+

The Tudors is filled with action, drama, suspense and passion. This has got to be the best series about the King! Once you start watching, you become hooked and feel the need to binge watch. Each episode literally draws you in making you want more. The cast is perfect and the wardrobe is exquisite. The brutal ways of King Henry is enraging, disheartening and unbelievable. I don’t want to give out any spoilers so I’m going to end this with saying that this is a true masterpiece that should be watched by everyone that enjoys history. There is nudity, so if that bothers you then that’s the only reason you should forgo seeing The Tudors…
