Our 'economy seven' electricity supply is used overnight to heat a lagged water cylinder fitted with an immersion heater. This thermostat is essential to turn off the circuit when the tank water temperature is high enough [if left on it would boil which is a rather scary event]. Thus it is important that it functions correctly and this does indeed switch off suitably. The reason for the four stars is that, for no reason I can trace, it sometimes trips its inconspicuous reset button which means we have a day without hot water until the button is pressed.

Hot water was coming out the tap like lava. The old thermostat had packed in and the boiler was essentially boiling the water 24/7. Two wires to change, push in and done. Easy.

Old thermostat would trip when left on and only heated water to the highest temperature. Need to use my immersion as had a fault with boiler which wasn’t going to be repaired for a few weeks. Swapped thermostat and new one works as expected. Only difference being the size, I can no longer get the cover on but the tank is due to be ripped out in a month so no problem for me.

I purchased this model to replace an existing Immersion Heater thermostat manufactured by Ba........c which had stopped working correctly after only fourteen months and was a second replacement for one of the same make. This thermostat has a larger and easier to adjust temperature selector and is more accurate than the previous make and is also at a very good price. Recommended
