Overall a good laptop
I bought this laptop at ยฃ800 what I thought would be a better option than I mac around the same price. I use it for paperwork and DAW software's with total ease and can happily play games also, recently playing Fallen Jedi and Call of duty, both running well with good settings and frame rates and with a decent looking screen. The bits what aren't as good but for the price I am not fussed, is the brightness of the screen at full and the loudness of fans, but was still totally worth the purchase. I'm happy I didn't buy a MacBook:)

The cheapest 144hz gaming experience
I bought the nitro 5 in the prime day sales after looking for a cheap 144hz gaming laptop for a while. There wasn't much info on the 144hz model but I went for it because the ยฃ750 price seemed like a good deal. So here's my thoughts after a month of use. Gaming results are solid the gtx 1060 is still a good enough gpu and will run most games at 60 fps with at least medium settings. Only esports games such as overwatch and csgo will be able to fully utilise the 144hz display though. At low settings overwatch runs great you wont get a better experience at this price. The display is just ok but its fine for gaming. Its definitely not the best 144hz panel in a laptop but for the price I paid im very happy. Thermal performance is poor and I think this model is probably the worst for thermals. Depending on the game cpu temps regularly get into the 90s even with max fan speed enabled. I undervolted the cpu by -1.15 which does help keep temps in the 80s without sacrificing performance. This laptop comes with 8gb ram in dual channel which I was unaware of when buying. For most games this is plenty only more cpu heavy games will benefit from upgrading but for that you will have to replace both sticks of ram for it to be dual channel. Luckily this is super easy to do on this laptop, just one screw and you can get to the ram slots. The 512gb m.2 ssd is super nice and unexpected for this price range, there is a 2.5 inch bay for expanding storage if you wanted. Not sure if there is a second m.2 slot but at the moment 512gb ssd is fine for me. Considering this laptop cost me ยฃ750 I can't really complain too much about thermal issues. This laptop satisfies my needs for a cheap 144hz gaming experience.

Beware, potential 80C - 100C CPU temperature
i5-8300h, GTX 1060 I bought this for ยฃ800, which represents excellent value for money. I don't recommend paying any more than that. However, the CPU can overheat to 80C-100C after 1 hour of gaming. This will degrade (i.e destroy) the CPU over time and also cause laptop performance issues. To remedy this you will need to potentially i) under-volt the CPU ii) open up the laptop and apply new thermal paste to the CPU iii) turn off the CPU turbo boost function If you're unwilling to do any of the above, I don't recommend you buy the laptop unless you plan to use it to fry eggs.

Not bad for the price.
So i got the GTX 1060 6gb, i5 8th Gen, 8gb ram and 144hz display. So far I've been using it for a month, and i am extreamly happy with my purchise. Lets get in to more detail. The design of the lap top its self feels sturdy and has a nice carbon fiber feel on it on the top, the display is crisp and the 144hz screen is super improvment over my last 60hz screen, u really notice the difference even from just mooving the mouse. So i tasted some popular games on it to see what frames i get. -COD Warzone on high i got around 60-70fps, on medium i was getting around 80-90fps -World of Warcraft ultra high 120fps constant -Cs go ultra settings over 240fps -Owerwatch high over 120fps Owerwatch is where i noticed the difference of having a 144hz monitor and it rly felt like an advantige. I have it 4 stars cuz it gets rly hot, although it is expected for a gaming laptop, but i think they could have mooved some things around to get a better heat sync. Oh one more thing before i forget... there is some bloutwear on the lap top that u might wanna uninstal. Over all great value for money and would recommend it if your on a budget and u wanna play all the new fancy games with medium to high settings. Also highly recomend getting a gaming mouse for it so u can get them headshots

Amazing laptop. However.....
This Laptop is amazing. Booting up is quick, playing games is amazing, pretty much doing anything is amazing. However, the downside is that for you to get EVERY ounce of power your laptop MUST be connected 24/7 if you want to be playing games. If you want to play games WITHOUT being plugged in than you must make sure that it requires low end power AND you don't mind the battery being drained QUICKLY. Whenever I tried playing Rocket League unplugged I struggled hitting 30fps and the battery drained in just under an hour. ONE MORE IMPORTANT THING! Upon getting this laptop it DIDN'T use the GTX 1060 it was using the integrated GPU instead. However this problem was fixed after contacting support.
