Perfect fit, functional and stylish
Until the early 70's, almost every motorcycle had these rubber gaiters to protect the fork tubes from stones, bugs, etc, and thus prolong the life of the fork seals. Sometime after that, they became unfashionable, as running without them gives a lighter appearance to the front fork assembly. These are sized to fit Harley Davidson motorcycles equipped with 39mm Showa forks, which covers many thousands of motorcycles. I needed to replace leaking fork seals on my own '91 Sportster, so thought I would install a pair of these while the forks were apart.I won't go into the process of replacing the fork seals themselves, as there are plenty of online tutorials on YouTube. Once the new seals were installed, these gaiters just slip down over the top of the fork tubes. The upper end is perfectly sized to fit the chrome fork tube snugly, and the lower end is perfectly sized to fit the upper end of the alloy slider, especially if you leave off the chrome cap which covers the top of the slider and the dust wiper when reassembling the forks. The gaiters even have vents...four recessed areas evenly spaced around the circumference molded into the inside bottom edge, so they can "breathe" as the suspension works. They work well even without clamps, and there really isn't much of a place to put a clamp at the top, anyway. At the bottom, there is a space where you could potentially install a clamp, if you wanted to, but I've not found them necessary. If you do install a clamp, don't tighten it too much, or you could close off those four vents at the bottom. The rubber seems to be of good quality, much better than what used to be on my old Triumph motorcycles of the 60's.I really like the retro aspect they give the Sportster, and the additional protection they offer as well.

Super easy, highly effective way to protect your fork seals. Adds old school look to the front end.
These are great items. Thick rubber and the 39MM fits my '18 Scout Bobber perfectly once I trimmed off the top rung. I followed another reviewers tip of cutting them lengthwise then gluing together with some locktite brand gel super glue. Move the edge to the rear and its invisible. Function and fit is great. Is an easy inexpensive mod to keep the bugs off the forks and protect the delicate fork seals. Using this method it takes 20-30 minutes to complete the job.

Fits my W650 great!
You know, they don't look exactly like the picture, but sorta, the top has to be cinched with a zip tie, no room / collar for a metal strap type fixation. The bottom has the right protrusions to fit the fork bottom tube indent well. They seem to be made of nice heavy duty flexible rubber. Looks better than the original that were getting tired and dry after 20 years! Recommended.

Very happy
Great gaiters!Very high quality and made out of good rubber. My only gripe is that they don't have a small hole in the back to drain condensation and equalize any pressure differences.Easily fixed.

Perfect for the Yamaha XSR700
I bought the 39mm Black Fork Boots (Product #666760) and they're perfect for the 2019 Yamaha XSR700. They're pretty thick and seem good quality. You have to squeeze the top to bring it down the fork cylinder, but not too tight that they won't slide down. The bottom overlaps also pretty tight with the fork bottom. You won't need zip ties at all and there's enough elasticity to compress and extend so they won't move. Totally recommended!

Looks good
I like them a lot. Adds a nice look to the bike. It was too much of a pain for me to remove the wheel and forks so I just sliced these down their seam and put them on the forks that way. Used super glue gel to adhere the seam back together and used some black zip-ties to finish it off. Although the bike has 41mm forks and these boots are 39 it still worked fine but i would recommend getting the right size for your bike. Holding together good so far.
