Wow!
I was gluing a new panel on the rear hatch of my Ford Explorer. I read a lot of the reviews and it was difficult to tell whether this would work well with my application. This piece was about 6 inches tall by 4 feet wide and the back was plastic and so I was unsure if the glue would adhere to it. I did sand the surfaces that I would be using the glue on, and the only issue I have with this glue is that there are two versions. One sets up in 20 minutes which was way too short, and the other is this version which takes 4 to 6 hours. And you really need to let it sit for 24 hours. But I will say that once it was all said and done this panel was now part of the car. It’s solid and I don’t think it will ever come off again. I mean it’s like there is no difference between this plastic panel and my car where it’s attached. It’s welded. I did tape the entire area and clamp it. I left it for 24 hours. I’ve been using the rear hatch for a month now. No issues. So obviously the key is to keep it tight and stable till it’s fully cured. So I’d say this was well worth the price.

Is the best metal glue?
It is very strong for glue and sheet metal. You can't squeeze the glue out when overlapping because of the glass beads they put in the glue.

This really Bonds
I've been using 3m SEM panel bond for about 10 yrs now. In autobody applications I almost prefer it to welding. Extremely strong bonding adhesive. I did an experiment by allowing the product to harden on 2 pieces of joined metal. One caveat is any close by heat generated by my mig welder softened the adhesive so in my opinion either bond your autobody repairs or weld them. Don't mix the processes in any single area of repair. Excellent product.

good stuff but doesn't go very far
Does it's job but you're going to need at least twice what you think.

Worked Well.

Who needs welding?
Pros:- In certain circumstances a great option vs weldingCons:- You need special guns that are expensive to get into, but are worth it if you keep using itThis stuff is great, I see no point in welding things like rocker panels or floor pans. This stuff replaces both the spot welds and the sealer used when you do spot welds. It really is great . Obviously you won't be using it to weld thick metal or anything. But for thin stuff like body panels, it's absolutely amazing.

Great alternative to welding. Get the correct gun and use in accordance with approved applications..
This product worked great. Follow the directions and get the correct applicator gun. For the one star reviews, the majority used the wrong applicator gun and then complained that the product didnt work. The propriatary gun needs to be used. This is my third purchase of this 3m epoxy because it is very versatile and can be used for many projects. I used this on a bedside panel toyota pickup also some floor panel patches. Super strong. Also used to fix some.broken household items that needed a strong bond. Great alternative to welding if using in accordance with approved applications.

Makes life much easier
This stuff is basically spot-welder in a can. Where there are a *few* areas that you cannot use it, any muscle-car restorer should understand that this stuff does the job just right for replacing bad sections of body sheet-metal.I used this to repair the front passenger-side quarter panel in my 1965 Tempest, and am planning to use more to re-skin my rear fenders.Buy one more tube than you think you'll need. It's deceptively small.
