Regularly replacing the filters on your automobile is crucial to the longevity of the engine. Dirty air filters will restrict airflow, decrease horsepower and acceleration while allowing particulates into the engine that will contaminate engine oil resulting in excessive wear to crucial components. This also makes it vital to regularly change your oil filter as well. You can use the highest quality of synthetic motor oil but if you use an inexpensive filter or fail to change it, it can result it catastrophic engine failure. I would recommend spending the extra few dollars and using the Fram Utra Guard oil filters and the Extra Guard Air Filter and change them both after every oil change. If you use a full synthetic oil, you probably go up to10k miles between oil changes but I would recommend changing it every 7500 miles under normal driving conditions. If you are towing or operate under extreme conditions, I would recommend changing the oil and all filters after 5000 miles. I've used Fram products for over 30 years and have never had a problem. I owned a Nissan that had over 300k miles before I sold it, and my current Sorento has over 200k miles and is going strong. I attribute this to regular preventative maintenance which includes Fram filters. The price is great on Amazon and you'll receive the product in a couple of days using Prime. You'll also save yourself a trip to the auto parts or big box store only to find that they are out of stock on your filter type.
