Shuttlecraft Galileo - 1992 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament

It’s a classic. It’s really hard not to love the Galileo when Leonard Nimoy’s voice plays through its tiny speaker (even if the sound quality leaves a little to be desired). The nostalgia alone is worth 10x the price.

Perfect gift for Star Trek (TOS) fan. Item is brand new, was still in the sealed packaging, even with the "limited warranty through 1995" - lol. SO pleased! Delivery was fast and arrived in time for a pre-Christmas birthday, so it gets to hang on the tree this year. To note, I did have to swap out the plastic adapter to fit the light string. But, that simple swap was all it took, and it works perfectly! To explain, the plastic adapter it came with was just a bit too big to fit completely into the light socket. It would stick in a little, but not far enough to make contact. So I just unfolded the 2 wires and removed it from the original adapter, and then used the adapter for the bulb that I removed from the socket to plug it into, threaded in the wires and folded them over snugly. It was then able to fit completely into the socket and immediately lit up. For some of the reviewers who said theirs didn't work, they may want to try changing the plastic adapter to one out of their light string, as the one it comes with may just not fit correctly in their light string. I took several pictures and video of the sound, as I didn't find anything but pics of the outside of the box here on Amazon, during my search through the reviews. It was nice that it gets power from the tree lights. Very easy to pop off bulb and put on adapter and plug into this ornament. Love not needing batteries. The lights and sound are great. Any trekies you know would love. Makes a great gift

When my dad married my mom, he brought with him my older half-brother. The way he and my mom came to bond was through their shared love of "Star Trek". My mom had this ornament hanging on the tree every year every year since before I was born. For me, t wasn't truly Christmas until I heard Mr. Spock. A couple of years ago, my house burned down. The first Christmas without this ornament just didn't feel the same. So, this past Christmas, I got this for my mom. When it arrived, I, of course, took it out of the box and plugged it in, wanting to make sure that it worked. With the first syllable I was in tears. Happy ones, of course. Immediately, I called my sister in order to show it to her. I played it for her and she too immediately began to cry. When my mom unwrapped it, she was speechless. She got up plugged it into the tree and began to cry as well. After a year, with the voice of Mr. Spock, it was finally Christmas.

We put up our tree the weekend after Thanksgiving as usual… When my partner put all of his Original Hallmark Star Trek Collection on,!he pushed the button on this ornament but it didn’t work!!! He was devastated!!!! We went online & found it for WAY MORE THAN WE COULD EVER SPEND ON SOMETHING LIKE THIS…. Now I was devastated too!!!! So while he slept I went here to Amazon ~ MY GO TO FOR EVERYTHING!!!! When I I found it I couldn’t believe my eyes!!!! His ship wasn’t $500+ ~~~ it wasn’t even $100+ …… I was able to get an ORIGINAL IN THE BOX 1992 Suttlecraft Galileo for $30.00!!!!!! They only had 2 left so I grabbed up 1 & the other was gone within the next few minutes!!!!! He’s SO HAPPY & that MAKES ME HAPPY!!!!! We are keeping the original one for obvious reasons but the “new one” will be on the tree each year ….. THANK YOU AMAZON!!!!!!

I ordered this for my father for a Christmas gift. He’s difficult to buy for so I look for unusual gifts. He’s a Star Trek fan who needs a light up shuttle that has Spock’s voice on it. Seems light a good gift to me. The seller got this to me within a week. It still has the original hallmark box. I haven’t been able to plug it in to check out the light and voice yet but so far everything looks good.
