I use them about the house, and to bring a bit of warmth and coziness to catering events. They each take two aa batteries (not included) and are rated for 150 hours of continuous use on one set of batteries. I use rechargeable batteries, so my performance is slightly lower than that. In addition to battery life, they are rated to last for 50,000 hours. Since that is almost six years, I have yet to test that claim out. However, my first set of these were purchased over a year-and-a-half ago and are still going strong.Activate the candles by adding the batteries, and carefully closing the battery cover. Note Those covers will break if forced, so be careful. Then turn them on by sliding the on/off switch to the on position. You can now use the remotes to control the candle’s many features.Since you get nine candles, I have a tendency to group them in threes, as you can see from these images (Figure-3, Figure-4, Figure-5).Two Full-Feature Remotes (Figure-6)To active the remotes, pull the plastic tab out from the bottom. The remotes are IR, not wireless, so they will need to be in line-of-site with the candles, in order for them to work. I also performed a distance test and I needed to be between 10 – 12 feet (3 – 3.6 meters) for the candles to recognize the signal coming from the remote.The top buttons on the remote are for turning the candles on (green) and off (red). The candles must be on before using any of the other features.The remainder of the buttons are divided into 4 sections.TimerThe four buttons in this section control how long the candles stay lit (2, 4, 6, or 8 hours). Note: If you just press the red on button, the candles will stay on until the batteries fail.ModeYou have two choices: Candle or Light mode.Light mode gives you a steady light; while Candle mode gives you the illusion of a flickering candle. Note: When you first use the Candle mode on a group of candles, they will all flicker at the same time, which makes them look fake; however, after about 20 – 30 seconds they will begin flickering independently of each other. Giving you a very realistic looking group of candles.DimBy pressing the two buttons (left, decrease, right increase), you can adjust the luminosity to fit the mood you desire.Bottom LineAs I mentioned, this my second set, and after using them almost every day for18 months or so, they are still going strong.Note: All measurements and weights are derived from my study of the product and may vary slightly from those stated by the manufacturer.

The candle effect is good, dimming is a nice option. Unfortunately one of the 9 does not respond to the remote, at all. Amazon does not provide a way to contact the seller - and it's a huge waste to return the entire set for one candle. Otherwise, it would have been 5 stars.Update: Seller went above and beyond to fix the issue, so I'm bumping it to 5 stars.

I used these for diner en blanc. It was a hit and a nice addition to the table decorations. Durable sturdy. Realistic. They flicker like real candles! I love the option to have them flicker or not. The remote is an added little bonus. You can definitely set the mood.The only complaint I would have is the sheer amount of batteries these take 2 double A per candle is excessive, but I guess that’s what Costco is for.

I've purchased many flameless candles in the past & this is indeed by far the best quality set I've had & at a fraction of the price PLUS remotes! Makes it so easy to turn on/off with different settings to either have a steady light or a flickering candle light & it has a brightener & dimmer so you're able to achieve a bright white to a warm white light to set the mood you're looking for. I was surprised at how far the remotes would work away from the candles. I ordered 2 sets so that gives me 18 candles & 4 remotes & it qualified me for FREE SHIPPING & I received them less than 24 hours from the time I placed the order. They are packaged very well, protecting the wax, easy to load the batteries & make amazing displays. The remote already has the battery installed, but it does take 2 AA batteries for each candlestick. I was out today & happened across a set of 7 without a remote & that set was over $30, so if you're considering these, just buy them, you're getting a great product at a great value!

The media could not be loaded.  I love these candles. The set came with a remote that gives you 2, 4, 6, and 8 hr timer settings. The remote works all candles at once unless spread out, then you may have to aim in sections. You can set the candle to flicker or to dim. (the flame doesn’t have any settings, the flicker is in the candle). I’ve included a video which shows all the functions. The only down side is the wick does make a clicking sound. I think it sounds like a flame crackling or like it’s sleeting outside. It doesn’t bother me but it might drive some people batty.

The media could not be loaded.  I figured I would buy this size because I actually wanted one large three wick candle and that was expensive. I put three of these together and put a small rubber band around the bottom and it was perfect.I do have to say if you set to candle flicker the moving wick makes a clicking noise. I will figure out how to stop that, maybe with a spot of hot glue to limit how much wick bounces around. I still love them and having 9 for the price is great!

Totally love these! Good size variety. I love the remote control. You can choose “candle” mode and make them flicker or “light” and have it be still. Remote has light dimmer settings, timer options (how many hours you want them on), on/off switch. You can point the remote on a group of candles to control all of them or isolate one candle to change it alone. Comes with two remotes that have the watch batteries in them but each candle takes 2 AAs otherwise. Also has on/off switch on each candle bottom. I cut the plastic protector off each candle and it looks great. Super good wax qaulity. They’re fabulous!!!

These candles are very realistic, and the remotes are a bonus. They added something special to our Christmas table decor.
