Does this mouse have the same clicking issue as the G500. i.e Sometimes it doesn't register a click, sometimes it double or triple clicks.

i never had the G500, but after a little over 2 years with the G500s, i started to get double-clicks (from just one click). at first it was rare, and i thought maybe it was my fault, but now it's happening very frequently. things get opened or closed/deleted unintentionally. it's become a serious problem and Logitech is now replacing the mouse. so if people are wondering whether the 500s solved the problem, i would certainly say no. from the comments here it seems the problem often manifests around the two-year mark.when i bought my mouse it had a 3 year warranty, but now all the models i've seen have only a two-year warranty. maybe that's why.

Can the scroll wheel move left and right?

The wheel clicks left and right so I suppose you could program it to the arrows.

Is the scroll wheel notched or free-spinning?

Both (either) depending on how you set it.

Does this mouse work on Mac? I would assume so, but it only mentions Windows operating systems in the description.
