PetSafe Extreme Weather Pet Door Medium, Easy Install, Insulating, Weather Proof, Energy Efficient, 3 Flap System

I had to purchase this because the external, insulated door for my house that I bought from Lowe's came with a single flap pet door (dumb!). This is the second time I purchased this pet door (since Lowe's hauled away the old door with the insulated pet door still in it).This pet door is great despite my grievances with Lowe's and annoyance at having to buy it twice. It was fairly easy to install, but the screws that come with it are plastic and slightly flimsy. If you ever need to remove and reinstall the door, you will need to break the plastic screws to uninstall and buy new ones to reinstall. Otherwise, this is a good product that helps keep the winter snow and cold out of the house.

I've used this triple-flap doggy door in southern climates as well as in Ireland. I liked it so much that when we moved to Wisconsin, I knew this was the best doggy door for the very cold climate. And the dogs love the freedom it gives them!

Good for about 3 years before needing a replacement. (Plastic doors crack). THis is my 3rd door in 10 years.

My only issue is the cover . Very hard to pop off . If had a slide down cover would be awesome.

This is definitely a two person job. My friend had to remove the door and it took quite a bit to make sure he only cut the door once. Unfortunately he installed it a little high so my little dog had a little trouble getting through it since the triple doors don't make it easy. But what I was really disappointed with was the closing panel. It doesn't slide in, it clips on. So to keep the dogs out I have to put it on the outside side, and to keep them in I have to put it on the inside. All the dog doors I am used to has a sliding panel that I can insert on the inside. This one seems cheap & flimsy. The triple doors do seem to keep the outside weather out and my little dogs learned to use it fairly easily even though they were old when we installed it. I'm sure it would be great for a young dog.
