My son got this for his car and he loves it.. looks great and sounds amazing...

This is a review after a year of ownership. I have a 2012 STI and installed a PX6+DSP 4+64G(WRX/Forester 2008-2012) head unit.The good:It looks amazing with the surrounding bezel making it appear OE.Interface is very responsive and easy to navigate even while drivingSteering wheel button setup was a breeze, you can even customize long pressesThe sound breathes new life into a tired and outdated speaker system. Just installing this HU made a world of difference in sound quality on stock speakersStartup is usually quick but there have been times where it needed a rebootConnecting phone to android auto is easy with included appVideo and YouTube content looks great on the 9" screenUse with a backup camera can be trying. I eventually got mine to work after lots of online searching with trial and error*Installation was pretty simple utilizing the provided dongles**Since it's full android you get to install Apps from the play storeThe Bad*The fit isn't perfect and you may have to trim the bezel**Because of Android version you will be limited on what apps can installWiring can get confusing. Luckily there is enough information online if you look hard enoughMy WiFi has been if'y. There have been times when I have to manually turn it back on to rather to my phoneThe large glossy screen can hit you with sun glare. (Not it's fault but just nothing my observation)Apps may eventually stop working after updates. This happened with my Chrome browserOverall I am pleased with this upgrade and have recommended it to friends.

Keeps freezing on me

I've been very patient with this head unit for several months now, but I'm sick and tired of this thing now. Going back and forth with the "technical help" Iris does not help. They cannot resolve the issues. The head unit will crash every morning about 15 seconds after the car starts up. Usually it's fine after that, but I expect much more for such an expensive product. Sometimes it completely freezes and I have to turn the car off to kill and restart the head unit. Apart from all these issues, it is not up to modern standards on processing speed and ease of use. Buggy chinese product.

I had one of these from Daisita in the same car years ago, and I loved it. Everything was perfect, it navigated just like an android phone or tablet, it was rock solid. Then the screen stopped working.I wanted the same experience, so I spent similar money (OUCH) on as close as I could find to the same thing. Nothing works. The layout is not android-like (no back button? WTF?), Z-link tries to take over the world every time I connect bluetooth and it freezes the unit, and half the apps I like to use (audible for a car trip anyone?) WON'T EVEN LAUNCH.COME ON.

I have had the unit installed for only a week but I couldn't be happier. You need the wifi hotspot or from a mobile hotspot to make google maps work but this this is amazing. Sound quality is a huge step up from my basic double din Sony. I've tried a total of 4 head units. 2 in my 2013 wrx and 2 in my tacoma and nothing I mean nothing I've had is this good. Sony, 2 panasonic, kenwood and none are this fast and fits so perfectly. They always look aftermarket but this looks like a huge stock screen that subaru offers.

Love the radio. But after a few years I was just driving and the screen went black. No idea what happened

fits good on my subaru, responds very fast, only downside is customer support doesnt respond your questions, if product goes bad, you on your own
