Tactical resume tips that make sense - a great value!
I found this book to be quite useful. Having just gone through a job search myself - I can attest that the tips that Dan provides will definitely help people land a better job. A few things I liked in particular about the book:1. The writing is straightforward and clear, which makes it easy to understand the concepts and put them into practice.2. Dan provides a host of free resources (resume templates, check-list, list of action words, etc.) that makes making changes to your resume easier - these resources were probably worth the price of the book by themselves3. The evidence provided in the book for why I should approach different aspects of my resume a certain way4. The level of detail put into explaining each aspect of developing a resume - helping to paint a clear picture of exactly how to structure each componentOverall, just a great value!

Very effective resume guide with one caveat
This is a great guide to writing an effective resume. The book is concise and to the point, easy to read and common sense. The one thing I disagree with the author is his position on cover letters. He says not to bother with it. Maybe in some small segment of high-tech companies on the west coast they don't need cover letters but in all other areas of the country the cover letters are still very much a necessity. I sent out my resume to 5 companies and received 4 responses but of those 5 companies I sent my resume without cover letter to 2 of them. Only one of those 2 responded and it was a start up located in Silicon Valley. Most companies require a cover letter so I would say ignore that advise in the book, otherwise it's the best resume-writing guide out there ( I received 2 job offers after sending my resume). The other (small) issue I had with the book is that in about half of it the words with letter d had a weird sign printed instead of that letter. Since this is a self-published book I guess the printer had some glitch in the computer program. The author may want to consider to review that. My copy was printed on 1/2/19.

Clear, practical, to the point -- no suprises. A must-have for your resume.
Dan's book is to the point. There is no fluff in this. He tells you what to do, why you are doing it and he provides real-world examples that can be copied directly into your text. The templates are useful and what I loved the most -- NO UPSELLING!!! Most authors want you to buy their book and while you are reading, you learn about their course that you must have to go to the next level. Dan does not do that. Clean, practical, direct. Thank you for this wonderful book. I highly recommend this book.

Very actionable material
Well-written, quick and easy read. Very actionable, relevant and current material. Dan goes through content (the why and how), what do do about employment gaps and even spends a considerable amount of time on formatting. I'm not sure how much his maniacal emphasis on absolute formatting consistency will make a difference, but I for one won't take a chance. I'm following his advice to the "T"... just in case.

Wow
Thought I was hot chips. This read humbled me and gave me amazing insight into improving my candidacy for jobs. I applied immediately the authors tips and tricks. My resume looks very legit now and I feel like I will get a plethora of interviews and offers now. This may be the most useful and important book in my life outside the Bible.

The best! Highly recommended!
This is the first book I bought on my kindle because I think it could help me in creating my resume in finding a job. And I am right, this book teaches the best practices for getting a more professional resume. You won't get disappointed or get lost in reading this book as the important things are in the table of contents and the topics are formatted perfectly for you to remember them easily. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a job or even just updating their resumes. Worth it!

Excellent Source for Resume Writing
I've been out of the market for many years, until recently. I'm using Dan's book to refresh my resume as it's an excellent source of information that covers every aspect of resume development. It's an easy read that one can complete with an hour to two. Dan is concise and straightforward, providing great advice. He covers many areas including examples of documenting gaps in ones career (i.e layoffs). The Bonus material is very helpful and appreciated. In the past when seeking a change in employment, I typically purchase the latest resume writing guide , however this time I turned to another online source of which I thought was creditable, however I did not receive one interview. After reading Dan's book, I clearly see why and plan to make the necessary changes immediately. I recommend this book to anyone whether you are a new to the market or like me, entering the job search after working for a previous employer for many years. Great Job Dan and many thanks.

Straightforward no-nonsense guide to improve your professional opportunities!
This is a must read for everyone looking to advance their professional opportunities! Dan does a great job providing a straightforward, detailed approach to developing a comprehensive and thoughtful resume. He invokes humor into a rather dry topic and lays out easy to understand concepts that you can put into practice. The free resources were an amazing value-add that easily made the book worth purchasing on its own. For those looking for a no-nonsense guide to keep on hand for reference throughout their career, this book is for you.

Most value for recent graduates and those wanting to change jobs after 10 or more years
From my perspective, the book will bring value to those, who have never written a job application before and who have done no online research on the topic. It will also bring value to those, who have worked in the same position for the past 10 or more years and therefore haven't written a resume in a long time. You can access the FREE goodies that come with the book without purchasing it as well on the author's webpage in exchange for your e-mail address (basically, in exchange for permission to upsell you). For the majority of people, I am not sure whether it is worth to spend the time or money on this book. On the other hand, if you want a substantial amount of resume writing guidance gathered in one place, why not, it doesn't cost too much and it is only approximately 130 pages.Lastly, the book makes no reference to the European job market and it seems, some aspects of the recommendations do not fit Europe.Good luck with your job search!

Very well written with some really important insights to make your resume better
i really liked reading this book. I struggle finishing any book - but this was a breeze. Its very crisp - to the point and mordern. It deserves your investment to give you the starting point to build your resume. The only thing author has left out is - this book won't write the resume for you, that you only need to do for yourself :p

Great advice, helped tons
Even though I am still in college, I was able to highlight my resume which does make it stand out from all other resumes I have seen from my room mates, friends etc. I haven't finished the entire book yet but it has definitely been an enlightening as I continue to read and find my flaws when I first made my resume.

Un aiuto per il mio CV
Niente di rivoluzionario, intendiamoci, ma tanti consigli di buon senso. La differenza tra il mio CV prima e dopo aver applicato le indicazioni presenti in questo libro è notevole.
